Yeah I'm pretty sure they'll take any major. I think they prefer a BS degree though.

And for noworries' comment: It's true. When I was in my division officer, who was an F/A-18 pilot, was a veterinarian.

The usual BA versus BS conundrum. Of course they will take you.

Actually it is better to have a BA. BS means more job specific skills. A BA is more geared to organizational thinking , being generally educated and being able to think outside of the box at the same time. Many people are great at certain things but what is looked for in any job are the qualities of a BA.

The military can teach most anybody to do whatever job but understanding the big picture of the world can not be. At its basic level being able to communicate is the key.

Examples.....

My brother in law has a degree in art history. He flys jets for the Navy.

My mentor and much older friend started out with a degree in psychology. He worked with guys in missle silos way back and later got into all sorts of intelligence things. Shoot...... he later say actual duty in all sorts of places. Think helicopter, third world and he has all the weapons that I do at one point.

Think intel when you go in. Worry not about your degree as it will get you farther than most.

As a generalization, graduation from college is the baseline educational level for entering the military as an officer candidate. I doubt a BA in Psychology will get into military officer because communications skills it shows poorly of.

It should. But, a PhD in Clinical Psychology is a sure bet to get into the Navy Medical Service Corps.
