Maltese only come in one size. There is no teacup. Toy is the name of the group of small companion dogs in the AKC. Maltese are in the toy group. According to the AKC breed standard, a maltese should weigh between 4 and 6 pounds.
Check out dogs at the shelter near you or you can also search for rescue groups, as well as maltese rescue groups.

AKC and CKC have breed standards for size, etc. I have never heard of a toy or teacup Maltese and I raised and showed dogs for many years. If you get a dog that is a lot smaller than breed standard, you may also get some health problems, too. Go to the AKC or CKC websites and look up the standard for Maltese, OK? And please have your dog fixed.

No such thing as a teacup or toy maltese!! If you find someone advertising such I would run ...
You would be getting the sickly runt of the litter or the backyard breeder is breeding runt to runt.

Well, I have to say, you DON'T want to deal with anyone advertising "teacup" anything... but, generally, a puppy in the size you want usually goes for between $1600-2500, sometimes as much as $3500, depending on who you buy from. (I live in L.A., CA, so there may be signifigant inflation factored into these prices)
Whatever you do, DON'T get sucked into buying from a petstore--unless your stae has a puppy lemon law and you know what you're getting.

Maltese puppies range between 450-1200 dollars, generally the smaller the puppy, the more expensive they are. Try looking for them in local newspapers, nextdaypets.com, or petfinder.com. Good luck!
