An excellent question - in that it shows one of the problems with modern evangelical fundamentalists (and fundamentalism):

"If you don't like Jesus, why are you in [the
religion & spirituality] section?"

So only Christians belong in the "Religion & Spirituality" section? Muslims, Hindu's, Buddhists, and others do not belong here? Atheists and agnostics, while not technically followers of a religion or believers in a god or gods, have no sense of spirituality, and thus don't belong here?

Intolerance, be it religious, racial, sexual, political, or any other form of bigotry, is anathema (to use a Christian term) to humanity and civilized society... and to the true spirit of Christianity, I might add...

Such a weak mind.
So indoctrinated into nonsense that it spouts nonsense.
I am an atheist and have been since I was 12 and that was 53 years ago, At 12, I reached the age of reason and thought long and hard about the stories I was 'taught' as a younger child.
So much of it just didn't add up that I thought some more and started to ask questions. The result was a definite step across that line into the world of reality. Best thing that I ever did.
Dropping in here to these pages is light relief and a source of entertaining debate but intelligent debate is very difficult with those who are so blind that they do not want to see, so deaf, etc.

You really need to ask yourself how you are so positive that JC even existed at all. There is no historical reference outside the book of stories that is the very confused bible.
If, and only if, you are of above average intelligence, you might care to research who Horus was.
Brave enough to google Horus?
Interested to know where your Jesus stories REALLY came from?

It's not so much that I dislike or don't believe in Christ as I do believe that he was the deity/prophet/savior that walked the earth. I just get disgusted with religious sycophants. I don't feel the need to aggravate the world with psycho Jesusfreak talk all day. I think I can also speak for most people in declaring that the Christian right wing "fundamentalist" coalition has really turned people off with their rabid, psychotic talk. I despise the Christian religion (an artificial man-made creation doomed to human error) but I love Christ.

Wait a minute, wait a minute... this is Religion and Spirituality, not Christianity and Spirituality. According to the way you worded this question, you are suggesting that not only should atheists and agnostics not be on R&S, but also Muslims, Pagans, Buddhists, Hindus, etc.?

Since this is not a "believers in Jesus only forum", why are YOU in this section?

As for me, I'm here because the subject interests me, because religion affects my life, and because I can. Don't like it? Go elsewhere.

Now R&S is owned by Christians? You really are full of yourself.

This is a public forum. If I wanted to ask why people believe in Jesus, where would you suggest I ask that? Dogs? Do you think I want a violation notice for posting in the wrong section?

If you like Jesus so much, why aren't you in CHURCH!?

I'm sure this section is called "Religion and Spirituality" not "Only those who confess to be Sinners and are Born Again, believe that there is only one God, Father Son and Holy Ghost, and who are the biggest pack of hypocrites on Earth are allowed to respond." If you can't handle a bit of criticism, then maybe your religion and the myriad of inconsistencies within it need to be seriously looked at.

Nowhere does it say "Jesus Section". I'm Catholic, to be fair Religion and Spirituality does not mean Christian, it could mean a lot of things including the lack of faith. Grow some skin, Jesus doesn't need you or me or anyone else standing up for him. He's the Son of Man, God, Alpha and Omega and what not, I don't think he mines a few in his flock expressing their opinion no matter how disagreeable you may find i.t

first its called religion and spirituality... not Christians and Jesus.. why are you so narrow minded after all there are other religions and spiritual beliefs....
its called religion and spirituality,
therefore it covers pretty much all forms of religion......
second- why is it okay for the "Jesus freaks" to press their religion and beliefs on the non believers or other religions... but yet the non believers and other religions dint get their say without making the Jesus freaks mad
third- i hate cigarettes and i dont smoke them.. doesn't mean i dont tell people how horrible they are

It is like this...
If you don't like beans...but someone tries to make you eat them anyway...you say No and push the plate away.
If you don't like sports...but that is all that is on TV and your friends try to pressure to go to the game...then you say no I will not be pressured!
If you don't like cigarettes...but someone tries to get you to smoke by posting cute adds...you say No...stay away from my children.
So if you don't think Jesus was the savior...but people try to pressure into believing the same way they do, try to run your life with their beliefs...then you say no I do not believe the same as you and you stand up for your rights.

Because the world's population is more than 1 billion-which is the approximate number of Christians worshipping.
Why are you not spreading the good news?
If you want a Christian only forum, make one yourself and make it by email invite only.
Yahoo!Answers is too broad a forum to have private chats.
