hick compared to West Aussie.. yeah, i would say you would have an accent to ME. someone gave a thumbs down to you. i am sure it was nothing against you but to imply that perhaps you would have an accent to them

I've got the Midwestern no accent thing going (I hope). But I have this weird trait where I pick up other people's accents when I'm around them for a while. Southern is the easiest for me to take on, as I'm an Okie. But I've been known to be from Minnesota, Maine, England, Germany, Joizey, and Hawaii.
I'm not making an effort to make fun of people, I just pickup speech patterns without thinking about it.

slow, thick and, southern. as stated, I am originally from NORTH CAROLINA.
when I was in the army, I used to get a lot of grief about it. I practiced until it wasn't nearly as noticeable then, realized that doing all that changing, only made people feel that I was ashamed of where I came from. why bother? if someone has a problem with the way You speak or, look, let them just keep on walking. it's just not worth it.

Southern drawl doesn't sound stupid unless you're saying something stupid. And if you didn't already guess, I've got a heavy Texan Southern drawl.

People say I have a Philadelphian accent? I was up in Maine one time a waitress asked where I was from? I said the Philadelphia area. She said oh I could tell by your accent? I don't hear it. And I certain don't sound like Rocky. Yo Just me. :)

I live in Texas, but I dont really have an accent, in fact I speak rather articulately. I enunciate all of my words, so as not to sound like one (hick)

I'm from Illinois. I don't hear myself with an accent...but people from other states can tell. Besides, for pure fun I can disguise my voice to sound like I'm from England or Ireland.
