Man I loved the Little Debbie cakes when I was a kid. I even wrote the company but never got an answer as to if they could reintroduce them. In the box, there were two cakes in a cellophane package They were round, and a yellow cake inside. On the outside they were covered in chocolate icing with bits of pecans all over the top. In the center under the icing was a white creme center. Drooling here. Gosh if I had a box of those right now, I'd probably eat the whole box. lol Anyone remember these? I can't remember if they had a specific name like the Little Debbie cupcakes have now. I just always told mom to get some Little Debbie's and she knew which ones. Dang I miss those cupcakes!!

I could be wrong on the inside cake, it could have been a white cake instead of yellow, seems more like it was white, not 100% sure though.

I've seen some L.D. cupcakes that are similiar to the ones I described, but not exactly. It would have been nice if the Little Debbie company would have just addressed my question. Guess they didn't figure it was worth their time. Thanks all, I'll keep looking around, and if I don't find them, I have been told they are in heaven! :) They were so good, I always thought they were made in heaven! I shoulda known! thanks all!! :)

By the way, on top of these cupcakes the center was raise slightly where the white creme was just underneath.

I never saw the Little Debbie line until late in the 80's. I once confided a guilty affection for the fudge disks--don't know the correct name--fudge rounds maybe. To my surprise he thought one of these was not so much (I had it with a cup of coffee). However, it turned out he was thinking of the little ones (150 calories) while I was talking about the big boy (400).
While I continue to make bad food choices, somehow I got clear of the Little Debbie madness. Yet, it was so purely sweet , that if satisfaction were in the cards at all, a fudge round would give it. I marveled at the pure savvy of the Little Debbie formula. They really know how to cater to a sweet tooth. Buying the small ones, probably would have led to eating the whole box. Monterey, some pleasures are best left for Heaven. Your Little Debbie Whatevers are waiting for you there.

You mean Hostess and/or Little Debbie don't still make those cupcakes??? I thought I saw them while in the gas station convenient store last month. Maybe they've had to drop the pecans because of so many more people reacting to nuts, but thought I saw chocolate frosting with filling on a white/yellow cupcake with 2 per package.

No - sorry looks like it must be an American thing we had cup-cakes and I know they are still around as my grandchildren had them not long ago?

No the only Debby's Cakes I know is a lovely little local fam;place who made me a reunion cake a while back to my own design.
