HISTORY

Milk comes from cows, or so most of everyone says. To be more accurate, milk comes from udders. To be even more accurate, milk is produced from mammals. What is the origin of milk? That information is obviously prohibited, confidential, and top secret. In other words, I don’t know. No one knows. Well perhaps someone did know, but we don’t know who that person was who did know the origin. So we’ll just go with the modern day scientific assumption. Man saw baby calves drink milk from mommy cows, and therefore decided… why don’t man drink milk from a cow’s udders too? It sure looks … raw.

Here’s what I do know: cows were first shipped to the Americas in the 1600’s, and we didn’t make healthy milk until 1886, when Louis Pasteur decided to kill bacteria by heating stuff up. Pasteurization revolutionized the milk industry by bringing in safe milk for the world. However, getting milk to drink back then wasn't as glamorous as it is today, where we can go to the nearest seven eleven to buy a carton of milk and stick it in the fridge. No, back then, they had to have milk delivered by milkmen. Refrigeration was expensive, and milk spoils fast. Delivery of milk in milk bottles were all the rage in the 1880's. It took the genius of Doctor Hervey D. Thatcher to invent the milk bottle so rag dolls wouldn’t fall into the previously used “jugs”.

WHAT IS MILK & HOW IT”S PROCESSED/ USED?

Ahh, soymilk, another interesting phenomenon. Similar amounts of protein as cow milk, yet completely different categories. Soymilk is vegan, while cow milk is.. meee-gan. This drink was to substitute milk in the form of a soy based liquid for the ones that could not handle the substance of lactose in milk. Traditional soymilk first originated in China during the Han Dynasty in 164 BC; it was basically a liquid extract of whole soybeans- an emulsion of oil, water, and protein. Observe that it does not include lactose, there for safe for all lactose intolerant people. It is, however nutritionally close to cow milk, it is common to be artificially enriched with vitamins, and it is a very healthy alternative to cow milk due to it’s lack of sugar. Diabetics have discovered their new drink of the past.

Milk is advertised with the source of calcium, which to the general public “builds strong ones”. It may be the world’s most popular nutritional supplement. Notice how I said popular, not significant. It’s popularity is lead on by good old fashioned propaganda. Advertising campaigns from dairy industries try to promote milk as the ideal food, and it’s calcium content has been it’s major selling point. The sad reality is that millions of people are swallowing billions of gallons of milk for its calcium, the very calcium which largely ends up being flushed down the toilet. Never was there credible research conducted to express calcium as a cure for osteoporosis.

According to milk promoters, the human race would turn into one ugly species if milk was not in our diet. We’d have bad teeth, dead hair, dark circles around our eyes, and a big anger issue. Milk, is a cure for all this. It would prevent tooth decay, “ because bad teeth ain’t sexy”. Milk is also a “beauty food” which has tons of nutrients to maintain strong and healthy locks of hair. Milk can cure insomnia, because it can tell the brain to go to sleep, and with sleep, those dark circles will be gone. Another milk miracle- curing PMS. A problem to both women and men. So when it’s that time of the month again, guys, buy [her some dairy/get the glass]. And when you’ve got milk, you’d be one udderly beautiful person.

Lactose intolerance, in layman’s terms, is a disease where consuming dairy can lead to embarrassing gasses, and sometimes a little more. To be stereotypical, most Asians and African Americans experience lactose intolerance. Why? Because these two races tend to just stop consuming milk and dairy products, and if you don’t use it, you lose it. The entire human race usually contains lactase in their bodies, which is the particle that breaks down lactose (commonly found in milk). However, after the years of 2 to 7, we tend to lose such lactase, resulting in three quarters of the world labeled as lactose intolerant. This is possibly the major reason to whereas soymilk was invented.

Milk is essential to all dairy products, ranging from ice cream to cheese. There are many different types of milk starting with the most common, animal milk. Cow milk is widespread because of the countless cows we have on the face of the planet. Goat milk, a less frequent product, is close to a perfect food on basis of all its essential amino acids without the heavy fat content as opposed to cow milk. Sometimes milk is flavored, to hide the taste of … well… milk. Chocolate and strawberry are two of the most common flavors to lure a child into drinking the white substance. Condensed milk is yet another type of milk, whereas the water is removed by evaporation and replaced with sugar substances. This results in a creamy, thick substance that is commonly used in deserts.

Yogurt is a popular milk made substance to society. It contains a sour taste, a creamy texture, and lots of bacteria. Basically, yogurt is milk with added cultures, or in other words, added bacteria. This bacteria isn’t bad for you though, it’s the good kind - eatable, healthy, and helpful. Yogurt enhances immunity, improve lactose intolerance, helps digest food, prevent stomach infections, lowers blood pressure, promotes intestinal health, and even helps lose weight. In fact, yogurt has more calcium and protein then plain old cow juice because of its added cultures.

I know where that school is at x)

Anyway, if you drink sour milk... well, I don't think you would be able to bring yourself to let it go all the way down your throat... so You wouldn't really be drinking it, would you?

You might get sick, throw up, spit it all back out since it's nasty, or have a really baaad tummy ache if you manage to get it all the way down into your tummy...

Or, you can try for yourself and get personal experience x)
