Try to remember that part of the world is basically a war zone also. Last I heard the US government was recommending Americans not travel to the middle east. You might consider Rome instead, lots of Christian history there also, no war just pick pockets.

IT'S AMAZING he will love it. I lived over there this past summer studying and touring all the religious sites for Christendom, Islam, and Judaism.
There are TON's of tours, you should check with a travel agent to see what would work best. If your looking for a good Christian tour find one that spends a decent amount of time in the Galilee, that place was amazing and was were Christ spent so much of his life.
Jerusalem is awesome, but it so crazy that it was nice to spend time some time away from the city getting a true feel for the land and people.

Go to a professional travel agency nearby where you live and get all the information that you want as tours are concerned from them. They are professionals and they are there not only to help you out but to make sure that you have made an excellent on your own.
Have a nice trip in Israel.

I went with my pastor the first time I went. He is a really good speaker. The second time I just grabbed a tour book, and a rental car, and drove around the place. Israel has a good road system.
But if you want the same tour that I did, my pastor starts and ends his tour from New York (see below). It might be too late for this year, but he will do it again in the spring.

If you plan at least a few months ahead you can find flights from JFK to Tel Aviv for under $1000. There may be special fares, but try sending him during a non-holiday (Christian and Jewish). Once he gets to Israel, he'll probably want to see the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Mount of Olives, and the old quarters of Jerusalem. The Dead Sea can also make a nice day trip. There are several companies that cater to Christian tourists, such as pilgrimtours.com, yallatours.com, and immanuel-tours.com.

There are several tour companies that offer tours of the Holy Land. I typed it into Yahoo and several came up. One was American Express, which is obviously a name you can trust. If you are a AAA member you can check them out, since they arrange travel as well. When I worked at a travel agency there was a tour company called Cosmos that offered relatively inexpensive tours. I'd check them out and see if they offer Holy Land tours. What might be even better is to check with a church. They may arrange tours for their members that you can get him on. That way he's travelling with others and not by himself.

You can always try with American Express because they are one of leading tour operators in this planet.
I have taken them to go to many foreign countries in which believe me when I tell from past experience that I have enjoyed very much their tours.
