Buy a BIG bottle of cheap WHITE hair conditioner, and a nit comb.
Apply conditioner liberally and comb through. The conditioner makes the lice dormant, so they don't run around and its easy to comb them and any nits out.
Rinse out conditioner.
Repeat every 2 days until there are no more nits present when you comb the hair (usually about 3 applications if no re-infestation)
The hair will be shining and silky (unlike most treatments) and nit free!
Get your school to start a "nitpickers" program!
Make sure your child keeps their hair tied back, and is aware how nits/lice travel. They don't jump, they move by direct contact. So no sharing brushes or combs or hats and no letting heads touch when whispering in friends ears etc. No contact means no transfer.

The most easiest thing in the world is to get rid of lice. My son got it when he was in elementary school two times and I put any cheap shampoo in a cup, fill it half way, and pour lots of table salt until it is almost a paste. Rub this on all of the child's hair and leave on for a couple of hours. Then wash the hair. Do this for 2 or three days in a row and those little bastards will be totally gone. This is totally guaranteed. Don't spend your money on any medication. Lice cannot live on hairs that are blow dried either. It is very difficult to see a child who's hair is always blow dried with lice. Good luck.

I had lice once when I was little (caught it from a friend) and vinegar really does help but it works if you put A LOT and it helps if you have a shower cap over the hair and leave it for a while (suffocates them basically). I'd say leave it for an hour and then try to pick out the nits and then have her wash her hair out with shampoo. No harm in trying again =/.

it particularly is the least complicated, maximum inexpensive and Most worthy way of removing headlice: purchase a nit comb from the drugstore; wash your youngster's hair in tea tree shampoo, slap on an excellent number of conditioner and use the nit comb to get the lice out. shop some bathroom roll or something reachable via fact the comb gets glooped up with product. Rinse hair. Repeat this every day or different day and that they'll %. their bags. Say 'no' to sleepovers until they are loose from them, or you will in no way win. i might basically use the stuff from the chemist if my very own technique did not artwork because it fairly is crammed with risky chemical aspects. supply it a flow and that i desire you a nit loose existence.

"R.I.D." It is a safe and extremely inexpensive product. Use it, and use it according to the instructions. It works perfectly, and your child (or yourself) won't have to suffer the embarrassment of smelling like bleach or vinegar (plus the pain), and the sooner you utilize it, the better.
Don't hesitate on this or you risk infesting your home and everyone in it. They are a parasitic nightmare, and it is not funny. Not at all.
Then write up a petition, and call a P.T.A. meeting to have the kids and teachers in the school subjected to rigid testing.
These critters are extremely hazardous, and if anyone plays the seriousness down, slap their face, and protect yourself and your children.
They will lay their eggs in the thousands, and infest your lives, and the lives of everyone around you in a way that will shock you. Get R.I.D. And use it properly.
Do It!

This sounds weird but it works....You need to damp the hair alittle then use Cetaphil (a lotion you can get at any drug store) work it in like conditioner and blow dry the hair completely, once the hair is dried and stiff pick out the nits out of the hair and wash hair afterwards. I have seen this work many of times and it is chemical free. Just repeat if it does not work.

Green alcohol works but it does dry out the hair pretty bad. You just coat the hair with it, wrap his/her head in a plastic grocery bag and let them sleep with it on the hair. Then wash their hair with dandruff shampoo and condition it. I recommend you get a hot oil treatment to use the next day to help with the dryness.

olive oil - or any good quality cooking oil. saturate the hair, cover with plastic wrap and leave on overnight.
Make sure you get rid of the nits - the eggs that attach to the hair shaft at the base.

Neem oil. It will kill and deter a reinfestation. You can most likely find it in a health food store, or herb shop.
