My doctor told me the side effects are mostly local but I've read the drug handbook and it says the effects are adrenal suppression and bone demineralization which are after all systemic effects. Can someone please enlighten me on this?

I've been searching for alternative drugs online and i found CROMOLYN SODIUM. It says it's not as effective as steroids but I wanna give it a try. Is it really inferior to steroids?

I have dark skin below my eyes that don't go away. I've read it's one of the signs of allergic rhinitis. How can I make it go away?

PLEASE HELP ME! thanks...

Fluticasone, nasocort, nasonex, and several other nasal sprays are corticosteroids that are very similar. Corticosteroids all have very strong side effects, but some people are far more sensitive than others. The theory behind the steroidal nasal sprays is that you can deliver a small dose to the target area and get a better effect than giving someone a much larger dose through a shot or pill. The smaller dose is supposed to minimize the likelihood of side effects - but some people have side effects even below the recommended dosage.

Adrenal suppression and bone loss occur from steroids. It is unlikely that either of these things will occur to much extent at the recommended dosage, but you never know if you are one of those people sensitive to the drug. The most serious side effects that commonly occur with steroid sprays are chronic sinus infection from yeast, changes in mood, and dry nasal passages.

Cromolyn Sodium is nowhere near as effective as steroids, in fact, it is intended to be used to prevent sinus congestion, but it is not intended to relieve congestion that already exists. The good thing is there are no side effects with Cromolyn sodium at all in most people.

You could try taking Claritin-D along with Mucinex - that's a pretty good combination that you can get over the counter.

the only element effects to utilising your nasal spray (no remember if it particularly is Nasonex, fluticasone (Flonase), or yet another steroidal nasal spray) in this way is the prospect of having a sore throat. the quantity of drug you swallow is merely too minimum to have systemic (or entire physique) effects. Your surgeon is probable partly astounding in asserting that the product is being wasted once you tension the medicine to shuttle down your throat. Steroidal nasal sprays paintings by utilising lowering inflammation interior the nasal passages. there's no income while the drug is especially on your throat.
