abrams is one i dont know why the guy below me said hmmwv thats not a tank but the buffallo is a great vehicle they use in iraq its one of the safest vehicles to get blown up in but has no weapons its made to interogate IEDS

You can build a tank with thick enough armor to be fully protective except it would only move about 2 miles an hour. and the humvee was never intended to be a battle vehicle. It is the type of mission which is at fault not the equipment. Soldiers are soldiers not policemen.

The M1 Abrams is the main assault TANK used. However the M2A2 ODS Bradley (often thought to be a tank, which it isn't) along with the Styker, are more commonly used because of the urban terrain we fight in.

The US Army uses the M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank. The terrorists don't have tanks, and the Iraqi tanks are toast, courtesy of our Abrams tankers !
