I found out my coworker does drugs, weed to be exact. I have a demanding position that can make or break about 40 employees jobs. This employee is the backbone to our business, and can affect everything I am working twords. The problem is, this coworker has three kids, and is divorced. This is a good position for her, with great pay. I have never suspected she has been high at work, but I saw her in the parking lot, off company time, stoned. Her job performance about 2 years ago was, 100%, now about 40%. I am scared if I turn her in, it will be a "she said he said thing", and it will backfire on me. Then we will have to work together. We have a good working relationship now. I am not her boss, but she does report to me regarding the status of the business. I assumed for a while she did get high, but now she was on company property high, and drove her car away. HELP ME!!! I know this seems easy, but putting a single mother out of work with three kids is hard. Thanks.

I wouldnt exactly turn her in , but maybe ask a higher up for random drug screenings, starting ASAP, and if she isnt getting high at or before work, maybe just leave it alone, but if it were at work, i would be on it. My husband works with several individuals that do some sort of drugs, weather its weed, or prescription drugs not prescribed for them, i would love for the company to do random drug screenings, especially because so amny people get hurt out there, and nothing is ever asked, but i would do what you feel is right, maybe she shouldnt be getting high if she has kids to worry about, the kids should come first to any good mother, but go with your gut and you'll make the right decision!!

If her work performance has suffered to the point where it is now 40% then she will end up being fired or put in a lesser position until she can bring her performance back to satisfactory level.

If you snitch on her, your action may be questioned by your co-workers and they may end up shunning your for causing her to lose her job.

If you are concerned for her, try to get her to seek help with her addiction.

Try talking to her about it, tell her you are concern that you seen her doing it, and someone may have too, if not this time, then the next time. Tell her, you are only saying this to her, because you feel if Management found out that she could lose her job. It would hard for her to seek employment elsewhere. As you said, you are not her Boss.

So I take it that your company doesn't drug test?! I think that you should speak with your boss, it is your responsibilty to your other co-workers and yourself. It may seem like you are being mean, since she has kids...but that's all the more reason she shouldn't be doing drugs in the first place!! If you boss askes you what business it is of yours just reply that you were concerned.

relies upon. in the event that they're making use of at paintings, i could truthfully turn them in. think of of it this way: in the event that they could desire to stash the drugs someplace speedy, what happens in the event that they get caught on your table drawer. i'm not risking that. in the event that they're only showing as much as paintings extreme, it may rely on what style of paintings. Sitting at a table, i does not care. If its something even remotely actual, something the place protection, rather MY protection, could be in possibility, i could turn them in.

ok when you said drugs i was like...thinking if it was heroin or crack haha, a little weed never hurt anybody, and it could be her medical condition, on stress, and depression (seeing how she is single with 3 or what ever kids), if its weed, its harmless on your safety invironment, dont be a little snitch and ruin her life over alittle pot.
let it go, be cool

i am very anti drug, but thats when it comes to teenagers, and higher drugs. with adults marijuanna could have different purposes, as for depression or pain. so yeah thanks for 2 points haha

if shes doing it on company property i think you should take her aside and talk to her. tell her your concerns about how her work is affected. it would be better to tell her first and give her the time to change herself. if she doesnt, go to the boss.

unless she is in a position where her drug use could cause some kind of accident, etc. it's none of yours or the companies business what she does off the clock.

and how exactly do you know what her job performance is if you aren't her supervisor?

if i were you, i would simply speak to her. don't turn her in, she might be struggling with things in her life, and weed can be that "escape" for her. best thing to do, is talk to her. tell her you know and offer her help i.e. advice.

Don't. It will catch up with her and you won't have to look like a backstabber.
