That depends on the type of strength training you'll be doing. And 10 minutes of strength training is really not that much. The cardio every day is a good idea to slim down, but why not weight train every other day for like 30 minutes each time?
For weight training, every day isn't as good as it sounds. Your muscles need 24-48 hours to recover. You're basically tearing the muscles and making them build up even better which means leaner and stronger. Unless you're hitting a different body part each time.
And personally, I'd rather go hard with cardio and weights like 4 times per week instead of every day. That'd get on my nerves.

That would be a good start, I would try to mix up the work out that you do also, such as one day go for a 2 mile jog, the next day swim for an hour, the next rest so on and so forth. I have found it best in the past to mix it up and not do the same workout all the time. what Click left out and fails to see in my opinion is that cardio •It strengthens the heart •It strengthens the lungs and increases lung capacity •It boosts the metabolism, burns calories, and helps you lose weight •It helps reduce stress •It increases energy •It promotes restful sleep Also his calculations on walking/running are a bit skewed. Cardio is a great way to "lose weight" if you are talking about toning your body and looking thinner. You will gain muscle over time which weights more than fat.

Yep, 20 min. is the minimum though. I think you should increase it a bit every week or other week or so. And don't give up when you've lost the weight because you'll find it right back there again soon after. Also, be careful about what you do because if you don't know the dangers of underweight...then google it, you'll find lotsa lotsa lotsa info. Good luck with it, and I hope you're successful. :P

30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise every day is great (if you can eventually do a little more, even better). However, strength training every day (for the same muscles) is a no-no. Muscles need time to repair and rebuild themselves. Think every other day, at least (better yet, wait 2 days).

Sounds like you have a great plan. As long as you raise your heart rate for at least 30 minutes a day, you're doing fine. Sounds like you have the perfect workout, along with a healthy diet. Good job.

a study has shown that people who just do cardio, and people who just do strength, dont lose as much weight as the people who do them combined.
but id say if youre at 20 minutes of cardio...you should just go for 30, and 10 minutes of strength every other day is enough for any female. unless you wanna be one of those body builders!

That would be perfect.
So many people I see try to lift weights and do push ups and sit ups till they die and completely forget about cardio.
Just be sure to stretch out afterwards. And drink plenty of water. You'll see results just be patient.
