buy a mat, some 3, 5, and 8 lb dumbells, and an exercise ball. take a 15 minute walk or jog to warm up. do strength training using freeweights and your exercise ball (inflatable). Use a video for good technique (probably the most important). You can also use a magazine such as Shape, Health, or Runner's World to help you get some ideas. Books are good too. You can do SOOOOO many things with the exercise ball---stretches, situps, strength training while seated on the ball. This works your core muscles and strength. Yoga is also great strenth training and stretching.
You need these things in your workouts (a combo of them each day):
cardio (running/ walking/ swimming/ biking, etc)
stretching (like yoga)
strength training (free weights).
Do you have stairs at your house? These are great too. You don't need a gym, just a strong will to succeed!!!!
Good luck!

Make sure your sessions are enjoyable. Do monitor your heart rate for the aerobic exercises and keep your heart rate at the lower end of the range. Weight training can be rewarding when you see your mussles begin to tone up.
You should plan to incorporate the exercise into your daily routine. You can find used stationary bikes for almost nothing at garage sales. Free weights can be fun and are very versitile. Pick up a good book on training like Body for LIfe (I found two copies at a thrift store). Also, there are many, many video tapes and DVDs with workouts. Pick up a few from your thrift store with performers who you enjoy. If you watch TV, plan to exercise for an hour while watching your favorite shows.
Make sure everything is convenient to use and that you keep it in your scedule as a high priority. Personally, I bike to and from work every day (rain or shine) in Seattle.
Remember that your health should be your #1 priority. If you don't have that, nothing else much matters. You will begin to feel much better in just a few weeks. Stick to it!

Jump rope is the BEST
I do it for like five minutes straight every hour and my cardio's really gotten better! so I increase it like another minutes every like two weeks and I just keep getting better. If you type in 'cardio jump rope' on youtube, there's this AWESOME video with someone showing you basic jump rope moves/styles you could try. Once you get good at it, your boyfriend'll probably get jealous or something and get into it, or you can tell him how GOOD it feels! It really does feel good, you even BREATH better! I really don't use expensive equipment because I can't afford it and I don't need it. There's also plenty of other options like kicking (the air), dancing, running, walking, anything that'll get you moving 20 minutes a day, and you'll be fine. You can just do that and then convince your boyfriend to see how fun and easy and rewarding it can be and he'll get into it, just like you!!
I hope everything turns out okay and good luck!!

Hm... with food he's motivated sometimes, especially with raw meat. However he's picky with food; he doesn't really like dog biscuits but if I have some raw meat, or even cooked meat, he'll get motivated (ESPECIALLY with the raw meat). He's also toy motivated, with his rope toys, however, if I let him off leash of course he'd choose to chase birds/cats rather than play with his rope toy. And praise... hm... well, I've basically taught him a lot of things using just praise. His tail starts to wag whenever I call him a "GOOD BOY" in a happy voice, LOL. But from all of those, I think food and toys are his best motivations but even then, nothng is 100% (such as recall with those).

you should go to a ymca near you and buy the mebership it's pretty inexpensive, sometimes the offer discounts depending on ur household income, and there are a hole lot of things to do like in the indoor swimming pool, the gym, the basketball, buy some dance videos, and tell ur boyfriend that if he really loves you he will do it for you, or bribe him,

There's lots of things you could do for free or next to free. You should invest in some small weights, like 2 or 5lbs depending on your exercise level. I bought some at Wal-Mart for like $3 each. While at Wal-Mart you could browse the magazine section and check out the health and fitness ones to get ideas for using your weights. You could also check out the library for mags and videos. Jump ropes are also great for working out and are inexpensive. If you have stairs, even one or two you could use them to work your legs, calves and even arms by doing dips and push-ups with your feet on the step. You could go for walks. You could make a walking routine. Ex: walk slow for 2 mins., medium for 5, and brisk for 10-15, then work back down, look for hills to climb (even small ones), walk backwards, walk doing lunges. Use a bench you find along your walk to do dips or lie on the bench with your legs hanging off in a "V" shape and lift and lower them to work your butt. Do sit ups. Just get creative! Think of the muscle you want to work on and figure a move to work it. As for your boyfriend, once he sees you working it, being creative and having fun he may get motivated to join in. Don't push or nag though just tell him how you are interested in his health and well being.

soo like, walking quickly is a lot better for your body if you want to lose weight, get fit, or get toned. basically, riding your bikes together would be a sweet way to get together and work for the muscle, or going for a hike, even doing yoga. yoga is the best workout - no lie! i SWEAR by it. and i just got my workout out some glamour magazine. trust me, and just rmr that white bread, white rice, candies, chocolates, are all bad for your weight - substitute organic foods or whole grain foods and wheat bread! it doesnt even tast different and if you shop right, the cost diff is minimal. so anyway, my sister wanted her man to work out, so she went up to him and stroked his arm and was like, "ooh, have you been working out? i like that.... " and that boy was whipped. a little bit of female intelligence combined with sex appeal is deadly for any man - so remember that!! little things like that mean a lot to guys, cause if theyre serious about the relationship, they do want the girl to be happy and impressed. sooo try it! good luck!
