My mother was a southern gal and used that term. My cat, Louie the Large has hissy fits too. he's very moody and if he doesn't get his way, here comes the hissy fit! Which question did I miss? The Cat is on vacation, so I could have missed something...

When I was a child I was very good at throwing 'Hissy" fits..

When I was 9 yrs old my father cured me of the "Hissy" fit in one very floamboyant and instructive moment..

I was throwing a full on kicking and screaming "Hissy" he calmly picked me up, carried me into the shower, set me down (fully clothed) and turned it to cold water on me He shut the shower door and left the room saying "When you are all cooled off feel free to get out."

My fathers parenting style was pretty unique he liked object lessons with a theatrical flare so they would stick with us.. LOL

Of course, and not only tempted , but have actually HAD them. God is very gracious....He tolerates hissy fits from His kids in the process of growing them UP.

Yes, but I do sneaky ones...I don't throw myself to the floor and kcik my legs yelling and shouting anymore... now I sneak my hissy fits steeped in double meanings, piss and vinegar.

Tempted? I usually give into that temptation before I realize what I am doing...

It is an art form I have perfected, but the proper term is "tantrum".
