interesting question and this is interesting answer ^_^
What do Muslims believe about Jesus(peace be upon him)
Question:
What do Muslims believe about Jesus ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him)?
Answer:
Muslims respect and revere Jesus ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him) , and await his second coming. They consider him one of the greatest of God’s messengers to mankind. A Muslim never refers to him simply as `Jesus', but always adds the phrase "peace be upon him." The Qur’aan confirms his virgin birth (a chapter of the Qur’aan is entitled `Mary') in her time, and Mary is considered the purest woman in all creation. The Qur’aan describes the creation of Jesus as follows (interpretation of the meaning): "Behold! the Angel said, `God has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you above the women of all nations. O Mary, God gives you glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name shall be the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, honored in this world and the Hereafter, and one that shall speak to the people from his cradle and in maturity, and shall be of the righteous.' She said: `O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me?' He said: `Even so; God creates what He wills. When He decrees a thing, He but says to it, "Be!" and it is." (Qur’aan, Surat (chapter) Aala ‘Imraan, 3:42-7) Jesus ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him) was born miraculously through the same power which had brought Adam (peace be upon him) into being without a father: "Truly, the likeness of Jesus unto Allaah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, and then said to him, `Be!' and he was." (3:59) During his prophetic mission, Jesus ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him) was granted and performed many miracles. The Qur’aan tells us that he said (interpretation of meaning): "I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I make for you out of the clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it and it becomes a bird by Allaah’s leave. And I heal the blind and the lepers, and I raise the dead by Allaah’s leave." (3:49) Other miracles include speaking soon after birth in defense of his mother's piety. God's other gifts to him included healing the blind and the sick, reviving the dead, and, most importantly, the message he was carrying. These miracles were granted to him by God to establish him as a prophet. According to the Qur’aan, he was not crucified, but only appeared so; instead, Allaah raised him unto Heaven. (Quraan, Chapter Maryam) Neither Muhammad ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him), nor Jesus ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him), came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one God, brought by earlier prophets, but to confirm and renew it. In the Quran Jesus ages/saws.gif"> (peace be upon him), is reported as saying that he came: " To attest the law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden you; I have come to you with a sign form your Lord, so fear God and obey me." (3:50)

For one thing, Muhammed came on the scene over 600 years after Jesus walked the earth. So, why all of the sudden does he come up with something that totally contradicts what was written and not refuted so many years earlier?
Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of prophecy. He was called, "Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah)." In John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), the Word was with God, the Word was God (in the Greek, 'the Word was the God', not a god as some are mistaken)."
The Muslims are mistaken, whether they think so or not. The Old Testament books were around for thousands of years before Christ and the New Testament books came into being starting only about 40 years after Jesus ascended. All the books of the Bible concur, align and agree that Jesus is the Messiah and God made flesh. So, how is it that Muhammed comes up with something "new" in some year past 600 A.D., which totally contradicts reliable scripture that had been around for so long?

Qur'anic figures from Joseph to Jesus were all Israelites (Jews). Indeed, they voluntarily submit themselves to GOD. But, how and where do you think they prayed? Remember, nobody, even the pre-Islamic Arabian tribes, had ever heard the word “Muslim” until Mohammed came in.
For CB4UP:
A "Muslim" is ONE who has voluntarily submitted his/herself to the Lord of Abraham (ALLAH). Will you acknowledge people such as Sister Teresa of Calcutta and Pope John Paul II as Muslims too? They have done much to mankind more than many other people did.
For the followers of Mohammed to stay "Muslim" they would have had to accept the most recent but NOT final Abrahamic Prophet – Bahá'u'lláh -- and obey the latest commands sent down by GOD (?)
Bernard Lewis (the Cleveland E. Dodge Professor Emeritus of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University) states that the Muslim laity and Islamic authorities have always had great difficulty in accommodating post-Islamic monotheistic religions such as the Bahá'í Faith, since the followers of such religions cannot be dismissed either as benighted heathens, like the polytheists of Asia and the animists of Africa, nor as outdated precursors, like the Jews and Christians. Moreover, their very existence presents a challenge to the Islamic doctrine of the perfection and finality of Muhammad's revelation.
For B:
Mohammed passed away more than 13 centuries ago. How could he possibly be with you forever? Please, don't just cherry-pick biblical words if you want to quote the Bible. Do you want Non Muslims to cherry-pick the Qur'an too? Here is the complete verse of John 14:17 : "The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you." Is Mohammed in you right now?
Muslims believe that Jewish and Christian sacred books were neglected, corrupted (tahrif) or altered in time by the Jews and Christians and have been replaced by God's final and perfect revelation, which is the Qur'ān. However, many Jews and Christians believe that the historical biblical archaeological record refutes this assertion, because the Dead Sea Scrolls (the Tanakh and other Jewish writings which predate the origin of the Qur'an) have been fully translated, validating the authenticity of the Greek Septuagint.

Jesus did not want to be worshiped. When someone called Him a good man, Jesus corrected them saying that He was not good, only his Father in Heaven was good. When taught us to pray he said, "OUR Father which art in Heaven" He came only to carry God message. No to replace God. I don't think he cared much how we worshiped God, just that we had the facts straight. He also made it clear that He thought of us as being his equal. He said that the miracles he performed, we can do as well if we just had faith the size of a teensy-weensy seed, the mustard seed. He called himseld the son of man, not the son of God. There are more instances when he tried to make it clear he was no better than us, but this is enough.
may peace be with you

Islam ws not dreamed up by Mohammad until the 7th Century and Jesus was crucified before then, thus He was not a Muslim. Mohammad was however a lunatic, hence he chose the moon god allah to be his supreme god. Allah was the Bedouin moon god long before Mohammad elevated him to be the supreme god of Islam. If you ask me that IS LAME!

It is good that you seek to understand other beliefs. Education is a great thing. But beware of 'compromising' your belief. Anyone that says Jesus is not God is wrong. I suggest that you take what you have written here in Answers to your pastor and let him/her show you in the Scriptures the Truth. Jesus warns, in the Bible, not to listen to teachings that are contrary to His teachings. He expects obedience from His children. False teachings are in the world and Jesus warns us of them. He is trying to protect us - so please heed His warnings. It's ok to know the 'difference' of beliefs, but it is essential that you continue studying the Word of God and strengthing your personal faith. Jesus came to earth as a Jew, was raised as a Jew, died on the cross as a Jew. He is not Muslim. But Jesus died for all humankind. For people to say that Jesus is not God, does not make it so. Be assured, our God will not be mocked.

I feel the same as C.S. Lewis the great Christian writer and professor. He stated..."A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of hell. You must make your choice.Either this man, was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool; you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with ant patronizing nonsense about Him being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.

A lot of people including the clergy on both sides, Christianity and Islam say we serve the same God, They try to use Jesus as a go between. Nonsense. We do not serve same God. Jesus is the Christian God, came to earth as a human, lived a perfect life and was crucified, sacrificing himself for us to cover our sins by his cleansing blood. A perfect Blood, Jesus says love your neighbor as yourself, look at America, now look at muslim countries, they are all third world countries even though they have all the oil. Does that make sense to you, Jesus loves each one of us and wants everyone to be saved and live with him in eternity. All we have to do is accept his free gift of salvation. Eph. 2:8 & 9, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Just say this simple prayer and you can be saved and have eternal life with Jesus, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. That is all there is to it. If you believed in your heart you are now saved, find you a church, read your Bible and live accordingly. Jesus paid all your price for salvation on the cross. Only blood atones for sin, Hebrews 9:22. In islam you have to work your way there, thats why we have terrorists, they are trying to work their way to heaven. My God Jesus Christ all ready owns everything, so how can you work your way to Heaven, you can't, there is nothing you can do to deserve Heaven. Christ did it all.

im sorry but Jesus could never be called a muslim.
he worshipped in a jewish temple and rebuked the leaders of His day. called them sons of satan and of murderers alike and cast out the moneychangers which were owned by jewish leadership.
Jesus was born a jew, and practiced all jewish piety. but he rebuked false traditions.
biblically Jesus was the messiah born in the flesh and lived in a mortal body but He was NOT God, he was the son of God who shared the same authority after his resurrection because HIS GOD and His FATHER gave him the throne and all authority. according to the book of revelation, Jesus also offers the most holy of all mortal men the same promise.
the muslims are wrong that Jesus is NOT god. for he created all things and the earth and its heaven. The christians are wrong in believing in the trinity, because their own bible discusses the doctrine of the godhead.
NOONE knows the absolute truth, unless They have personally talked to GOD and JESUS and Mohammend or anyother prophet like moses Enoch or ABLE or abraham.

I agree with you 100%.
God sent many messangers on the face of the earth like Jesus,Moses,Adam,Noha,Solemn,Muhammad(may peace be on all of them).
they all told to the mankind one and the same thing that
"worship none but one God".
And muslim Means that "who submits to will of God".
and Jesus had submitted. So he was a Muslim

I'm sorry but the islamic version of things is wrong. They use word games to try and get people to understand and believe, such as islam means submit to God, so Jesus was a Muslim. Wrong!! islam also means to recognize Muhammad as a prophet and Jesus would never do that! If islam did not include Muhammad then there would be no infidels. Muhammad has to be accepted to be a Muslim. Since Jesus taught to love and pray for your enemy and Muhammad killed his enemy, do you think Jesus would follow Muhammad? No way!
Another word game is that allah means God and Arab Christians and Jews say the same word. Again, not completely true! Jews use Hebrew around the world. Some Arab Christians use al-ilaah which is Arabic and means The (al) God (ilaah). Ilaah means god and can be generic in nature, referring to any god, but adding al means the one God. allah is a name and it is not the name of God as we Christians know, even if allah doesn't.
islam expects us to believe that allah took Jesus up before He was crucified and someone else was made to look like Jesus. allah allowed people to believe a lie for 600+ years until Muhammad came with the quran. Do you believe God to be so deceitful? I certainly don't.
God Bless.
