And other denominations say they are the "ONE CHURCH" how come they keep branching off and making their own rules? Also, why do people say Catholic is a "Denomination" when it means "a sub-group within a religion? Because Everyone else branched off Catholisism....

Andrew A. - I know the bible, I go you weekly and daily Church meetings, I have lived life according to God, I am happy, fulfilled in a way, and happy I found Him. I was wondering things...(Once your closer to your faith, you start asking questions) I know Yahoo answers may not be the best source, but I get a different POV from others around the world.
I may only be 16 but I have a strong faith and I have tons of friends who are the same way. They may not be Catholic or Christian, but we discuss and accept our and talk about our faith.:)

Not true...
1. Christ told Peter "On this Rock I will Build My Church"
2. Peter and the Apostles agreed to "One Catholic and Apostolic Church"
3. Original text says (Apostle's Creed) - "If you credit not the teachings of the priests . . . let credit at least be given to the Symbol of the Apostles which the Roman Church always preserves and maintains inviolate."
3. Prove to me catholisism is false if Christ appointed Peter to BUILD his church?
4. Catholic means unity and universal.
5. PROVE IT!!!

True Christianity ACCEPTS Christ. That is why it is called "Christianity"!!!!!!!!
Jehovah's Witnesses DO NOT Celebrate the birth of Jesus. Therefore they do not accept HIM!!! How can you say such a thing? I don't wanna sound rude but, shouldn't you accept Jesus and his birth in order to be Christian?

Denomination doesn't matter. The Word says nothing of denomination, it only speaks of the church. Notice the word...the . We should not be arguing about who is right or wrong. We should be reading studying and searching for the truth. Jesus says in John 14:6_I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Denominations came about after the crucifixion of Christ. Some followed John the Baptist, thus the tag...Baptist. Then, you have the Pentecostals who got their name as such because of the Day of Pentecost. Most of Christian denominations believe close to the same thing. Some may have grasped hold of more understanding of the Word than others simply because they read, study and pray more.
I definitely could do more of all three. There is so much in the Bible to glean from. If only I had no other responsibilities in life. I would love to have the knowledge of the Word that some of my friends have. And I have friends in many of the different denominations. But there is only one faith.

That's where the word "Babylon" comes in. It means confusion. There are more denominations today just in the US than there are days in the year. This is just to add more to the confusion because the enemy of all truth is determined to prevent the true light to reach mankind. Read Revelation 17:5. God used symbols to identify the Catholic Church as Babylon and the many denominations that have come out of Catholicism as her daughters. That being the case, where in the world is God's true church?!!!

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire
This verses in the bible have answered your question.
Catholic is one kind of false religion with false prophet/pastor or priest and Pope

Well, most of them started to shake off the authoritarianism of Rome (Vatican), which was itself a break-away church from the Greek.
Basically, humans are flawed.
a) Some of us prefer to learn the Bible for ourselves.
b) Some prefer to let the institution tell them what it means.
Pretty much all Christian churches can be defined by fitting into one or the other of those two positions.

Because people do not agree on Bible interpretation. All people who accept Christ as Savior comprise the body of Christ. Religion is man made, true worship is a different thing.

Actually, the Coptics and the Eastern Church didn't branch off Catholicism. Coptics were excommunicated before Catholicism was formally established. And the Orthodox faiths are probably nearer what Catholicism was before it became what it is, than Catholicism is.

Denominations arent religions. I attend a non denominational church, because they dont preach on religion. Its not about religion, its about faith in God, and people who say they are religious, is bologna. God is God, and you are just supposed to have faith, that he is the creater and forever will be Lord!

well let me give you a scriptual answer, (Colossians 2:8) . . .Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry YOU off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ. . .
(Acts 20:29-30) . . .I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.
(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
(James 4:4) 4 Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God. . .
(2 Corinthians 11:13-15) . . .For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works. . .
Well if you were the devil, wouldn't you use the sly means to cause people to be destroyed by God? Religion is his best
tool. but how do you indenify the REAL true religion?
well lets see some things that are required of true christians
(James 4:4) 4 Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.
So what does it mean to be a friend of the world we can discuss this later.
what commision did Jesus give to ALL his followers
(Matthew 28:18-20) . . .And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
who do you know of that is doing this? or this
(John 17:15-19) 15 “I request you, not to take them out of the world, but to watch over them because of the wicked one. 16 They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world. 17 Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth. 18 Just as you sent me forth into the world, I also sent them forth into the world. 19 And I am sanctifying myself in their behalf, that they also may be sanctified by means of truth.
Jesus said the same (Matthew 18:15-17) 15 “Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go lay bare his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two more, in order that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter may be established. 17 If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector.
so the 1st 3 things Jesus said to pray for are
(Matthew 6:9-10) . . .“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. . .
1 Sanctify God's name , do you know it if your using a KJ bible see ex6:3 niv see preface
2 the coming of the Kingdom? do you know what this is?
3. God's will to be done on earth. do you know what that will is?
so True Christianity would be doing these things, but false would be doing the above , As a former catholic I am now one of Jehovah's witnesses, we do live by those standards

because people have these little disagreements that pretty much sent them spewing off in one direction or another. Now this isn't bad. My belief is that you should pick a denomination that strengthens your relationship with God. Their is no "right" denomination.
