well a gallbladder is an organ that is part of your digestive system, it holds about 50ml or so of bile (a substance produced by your liver to break down fats, and neutralizes acids that are found within partly digested foods), while holding the bile teh gallbladder actually strengthens it by concentrating it, which in turn makes it more powerful in breaking down poly saturides.

It is an organ connected to your liver that houses bile ducts. You do not need it to live, but people who have them removed often have digestion issues.
