Calf cramps- massage may help. But check your calcium or start taking calcium + Vit D tablets.
Good luck!

The legs are the first place your body targets when you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water! I recommend purified water and Mineral Water mixed 50/50. The Mineral Water is going to put back into the muscles the minerals they are losing on a daily basis. You must drink beyond your thirst to get the benefits of hydration.
I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body.
In the evening take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. Afterwards, if you have something shaped like a cylinder and made out of hard material (think of a large rolling pin you would use for pizza dough or something) place it under your leg and push down and roll it back and forth...this should massage the spasms out of your leg. It will hurt while you're doing it, but more so the type of pain that actually feels good, in the long run. Afterwards massage an analgesic cream into the area. You will start feeling better very quickly.
take 500mg of calcium and magnesium before bedtime to help stop this cramping. If it continues see your medical doctor.

It's likely caused by a lack of potassium. It's a muscle cramp or a charlie horse, as it's sometimes called. A way to get it to go away when it happens is to flex your foot, bringing your toes as close to a 90 degree angle to your shin as possible. This stretches out your calf muscle and ends the cramp. It will help! I promise! :)
Try having a banana once a day for a week (unless you're allergic). That should help. :)
If this persists, though, please talk to your doctor. Make sure to keep track of how often and when it occurs and relay that information to your physician.

Yes that was a cramp. Those are the most painful things ever!!! You might not be getting enough water. That can happen from dehydration. If you drink pop that does not count. You need water. At least 6 8oz. glasses a day. Try that for a while and see if it helps. If not, most stores like Walmart for Walgreens sell a drug that helps with those cramps. I would try the water first.

Yes, unfortunately, my doctor said it's common. He said it may be a shortage of potassium or calcium. It got better for me (although I didn't start taking more of either of those). I just knew not to try to stretch too quickly, even in the night, or I'd get a terrible cramp.

It sounds like you had a cramp in your leg. I would not worry about it, that happens to a lot of people. Just being tired , too much walking, etc.

happened to me maybe...do you like stretch out your legs all the way or something before bed or strain them?? if the muscle goes all tense and doesnt stop for many seconds then it's a cramp and you dont have to be athletic or do sports all day to get them
