Job 38:2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

This is God speaking for the first time in the book of Job, and if you put it in modern english and paraphase, it could be read as "Who is this that speaks without knowing what they're talking about?"

This is my Old Testament favorite verse because there are SO MANY people like this (regardless of what religion or nonreligion they profess). I feel this verse shows intelligence and a bit of sarcastic humor on God's part. I love it.

This one comes to mind at the moment:

"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." ~ 1 Samuel, Chapter 16, Verse 7

We have a natural inclination to judge only on outward appearance, I've been guilty of this too, but we don’t have to give into it. We can seek the Lord and seek God’s heart and mind when looking at people. Things just are not always as they seem and we could be missing out on some very special people who may brighten our lives!

Deuteronomy 22:23, 22:24

Because it's a great example of how ridiculous it is to believe this book on blind faith.

This verse tells us that if a woman is raped in the city and doesn't cry out loud enough (who's to judge?), then it's a stoning for her!

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?" (Job 38:1-2).

Our good heavenly Father interrupts a know-it-all churchy snot-head and comes out in favor of His servant Job, beginning with this verse. Good stuff.

Gen 1:27 NIV) So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

Does this mean they were hermaphrodites?
