What is a county clerk??

Guys please help does anyone know how long a county clerk term is...or any good info about a county clerk....please im in a crisis here, :[

DEPENDS ON COUNTY
SOME JOBS AS LONG AS THE PERSON IS WILLING TO BE IN OFFICE--MERIT SYSTEM OR A CIVIL SERVICE POSITION

SOME JOBS BY ELECTION TO POSITION DEPENDING ON TERM OF ELECTION 2-4-6 YEARS TERMS

SOME EVERY 4 YEARS WITH COUNTY GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

SINCE THE CLERKS JOB AND THE CLERK OF THE COURT ARE TWO DIFFERENT COUNTY CLERKS JOBS I HAVE ANSWERED FOR BOTH POSITIONS
