Depends on a few things
1. Wear - is there a very high traffic area?
Some hard wood finishes ( depends on the number of finish coats) can show wear quickly in a high traffic pattern or area.
Are you the type to spill often , and the types of spills. laminate will not be affected as much as hardwood
2. Cost - What can your budget afford , laminate is cheaper
3. Are you planning a move in the future. Can you recover the improvement costs if you move.
4. What do you like best? Laminate will always be the "lower class" cousin to hardwood.
Hard wood is beautiful , Laminate looks like you wanted hardwood but could not afford the real thing.

Some of the laminates on the market today are really good looking...If you have pets, especially dogs, I'd steer away from laminates, only the really expensive ones can be repaired easily. If budget constraints are your concern, go with a laminate. If however you want a long lasting, more durable, (even sand-able) product go with a solid hardwood. aesthetically, they are both great options for a bedroom!

Hardwood = Sturdy. Get slivers if not done right. Expensive.
better for resale.
Laminate = Inexpensive. Don't let spills stay on it/dry NOW.
We have laminate with area rug & some throw rugs. Easy to clean & really like it.
PS - was a lot of fun having the dog & cat chasing down their ball or pom pom toys. The cat found it fun to go 'surfing' on the area rugs after a good running start. Laminate is entertaining.

both are equally as good, it just depends on how much you want to spend. Laminate is fairly cheap per sq foot and is fairly easy to install. Hardwood is much more expensive and probably needs to be professionaly installed. There are a few other choices. If you want a richer look that hardwood has, try cork or bamboo, some are cheaper than hardwood still, but look better than laminate. I have laminate at my house and its held up really well and looks good.
