Yes, maybe VH1 is the best, but most of MTV is OK. I knopw plenty of people 10 years old that do. My sister was fine watching it at 9. There is RockFest on VH1, which is fine for a 10 year old as well. RockFest doesn't have junk, they play classic hard rock from the 70s and 80s. Nothing inappropriate heard in 70s and 80s classic rock.

My daughter is 9 years old and loves to watch mtv and bet...I don't think she should watch certain music videos at all. And not only that...these reality shows on mtv and bet are not child friendly. But in order to avoid all of the tantrum involved in totally taking them away from her...we've compromised. I watch the video shows with her, and when there is something on that I don't feel she should be watching...we change the channel. If I'm too busy to watch with her at that particular time...she just doesn't watch. The videos of today are not the same videos that I watched when I was growing up. I'm 29 years old.

NOBODY should be watching MTV! there is no M in it anymore. but at 10 years old they shouldn't be watching what they are showing. That is not real life and they will probably end up driving an old Hyundai with a rims and a radio worth more than the car itself.

If I were the parent, I wouldn't let them.
MTV has a way of getting kids to all think one way, and rely on MTV to let them know what's cool. If you start them out young on MTV, they will never discover entertainment that's not on the Billboard 100, which a lot of the time can be way better than what's on MTV.

I don't think anyone should be watching MTV. Mindless drivel. I let my kids watch music videos. You never see those on MTV. We watch them on demand or find them on line. Isn't MTV filled with all of those ridiculous teen reality type shows now? Yuck.

i have 4 younger siblings (im sixteen) and i watch mtv...uhmm sorry but at the age of ten their in like fourth grade! i dont even think i lost all my teeth by the time i was ten...
MTV is way too influencial..one of friends younger sister got knocked up at thirteen. 10 years old..i figure it won't take too much longer.
Do anything to discourage watching things like that. At ten years old kids should be focused on having fun and playing outside and learning about how to be a good person in the world and growing up not...sex, drugs and dating and..reality shows about underaged people getting married and 19 year olds going to live in vagas...

Um no. 10 year olds are like sponges and they soak up learning. A 10 year old needs to learn things and be in sports. MTV isnt good for ANYONE to watch and I would NEVER let my 10 year old watch mtv.

NO NO............further more, nobody with half a brain or better should watch MTV, especially a 10 year old...........look around at so many kids and teens today being brought up on MTV.........look at them, look at their values, look where they are going in life.........you surely don't wan that trash for your child do you???

Truthfully? No, I don't. There seem to be nothing but half-naked women on there anymore. I'm not conservative by any stretch of the imagination but I'm an adult. Our children should not be looking up to these people, thinking this is what women are "supposed" to look like, because it's not even real. And they should also not take the males as role models either. 10 year olds are too young to understand the difference between television/entertainment and reality.
