MCRD San Diego, CA. As an eighteen year old recruit, chow call was the biggest culture shock one could imagine. SOS for breakfast, powdered eggs and milk, cool aid as an alternative beverage.
You gagged it down and ate it all. After a few weeks, it became tolerable. A few more weeks and you looked forward to chow call.
For you moms reading this, see that little ruggie will listen and even obey, when it's presented properly.

I think the word you are looking for is bizarre, not bazaar (which is a kind of market).
Tripe is the most bizarre and horrible. Its made of the lining of a cows stomach and is cooked in milk. Tastes like the contents of a cows backside.
Also jellyfish in singapore. Tasted weird and gave me nightmares and hallucinations.

It was made by a Korean woman in Germany. Found out what it was after we ate it. For those of you familiar with eating habits in Korea and The Philippines know what it was. Her husband panicked that neighbors might know what she had done. It is similar to goat.

I have had some crazy BUT yummy food from AFRICA it was at Disney, at the African restaurant, it was made with curry spices and was very very good. They had some amazing soups and meats. They also had a type of potato that was like our sweet potato but a little different! Very good. I talked to the chefs there who were from Africa and said that it really was authentic and so on so, to my knowledge it was and it was yummy!
