I have a 5month old female Great Dane, and she's a great dog, but very hyper at times. She will run as fast as she through out the whole house for like 10minutes straight. We walk her, and let her play outside all the time. Does anyone elses Great Danes do this??

Thank you to everyone that has been answering... This is the 1st time for me to own a Great Dane and I have two other puppies, but they aren't as hyper! It doesn't really bother me that she does this, I just didn't know if I wasn't exercising her enough.

She is still a puppy! We have had Danes for over 30 years, I have two now one laying on each side of the chair I'm setting in.
They will mellow out, however you should correct her when she does this...and tell her no and distract her and play with her.
They are a unique dog, the gently giants...both of ours like stuffed toys, and don't chew them up Harley our male has a big panda bear, it is a child's stuffed animal, I am always looking for stuffed toys for them, Maggie's favorite toy is a big stuffed fluffy bone....we have hardwood floors in our kitchen and dinning area and we have trained them to "walk easy" on the hardwood, they are very smart but you have to be patient and really work at training her..tone of voice is something they learn quick. Good Luck and enjoy her to the max/

They are right. It's not the dog, it's the age. Both of the Danes that I have had were raised in the house. I do rescue and the unhappiest ones that we see were left outside.
My first Dane belonged to a man who passed away. At 18 months she was put in a kennel. She would not eat she was so unhappy. She was skin and bones when I got her, 25 lbs under weight. This breed can't be without their humans.
My boy, Jacob , pictured here has never known anything else.
Hang in there, the pup will settle down with time.

A 5 month old is a puppy, a baby..a Dane puppy is no different then any other puppy (except size wise)..they should be expected to act like a puppy. Your Dane is acting perfectly normal.

I have 3 Danes in my house. a 13 month old, a 14 month old and a 5 year old....

All of my danes were kept inside. I really don't see Great Danes doing well as outside dogs (I really prefer all dogs are indoor myself.)

All puppies have a lot of energy. My danes were always very playful as puppies, but nothing compares to the energy level of my lab...that dog *never* gets tired. Your dog is perfectly normal! :)

I don't own a Dane, but everyone that I know who has, always kept them inside, even in small Manhattan apartments. Are you she's getting enough exercise? Also...5 months is still a baby...that's typical behavior, I do believe.

It's not the breed, it's the age. All pups have high energy at that age and that can last up to the age of 2, depending on the breed.

Maybe a jog, rather than a walk would help with that burst of energy in your pup.
