I don't think either one of them will go very well with a cat and a dog but I will give you some information on sugar gliders.

Sugar Gliders are nocturnal animals that require a great deal of attention. They usually start getting active after sunset so in the summer that would be 9 or 10 pm. They like making a lot of noise when they are running around so the owner (and others in the house) should be prepared to be up a majority of the night. They are very social creatures and require a lot of handling and playing or they would be very wild and uncontrollable. They like to eat a variety of "human" foods like fruits, nuts, and raisins along with mealy worms. The food must be fresh so you will need to cut up fresh food for them every day or two. They tend to live for 12 years or more so are a long term investment of time and caring.

Read up a lot on them before you even think about getting one. They are a unique creature and definitely are not for everyone.

I used to have sugar gliders. They ARE wonderful pets, but if you are not gonna be around much than you really need 2 as they do not do well alone. They need at least 2 hrs of human interaction AT NIGHT they are nocturnal and they relly do sleep all day. I carried my girl in a pouch around my neck all day, she bonded incredibly well. They need a special diet and they AREvery messy. they will also wake you up in the middle of the night barking (its kinda like a dog whispered bark sound). They bond very strongly to you if given the chance. They are small and can escape their cages, if you have a cat this would be very dangerous. They can bite and they bite hard, you will bleed.....They are not suited to people who are young and still in school as you get older your inetersts will change (its normal it happens to everyone)...please think very carefully about a glider as a pet.

Where is your cat going in a week?? you are not gettign rid of a cat and then getting another pet are you?

get a suger glider.
you can not have a squrirlle. they are wild animals and if you take him into your home you will be ruining his life.
suger gliders on the other hand have been domesticated and are bassicly small squirlles so please get a suger glider and save the trouble and damaging a squirllie
plus they are cheaper'

and they both live a long time, and i know for sure . you would get bored of it after the first year,
your alreayd replacing your other pets with a suger glider or squirllel.
your bored of your other pets so you buy more?
