Splenda is basically sucralose, according to the FDA this is not carcinogenic (cancer causing).

"In determining the safety of sucralose, FDA reviewed data from more than 110 studies in humans and animals. Many of the studies were designed to identify possible toxic effects including carcinogenic, reproductive and neurological effects. No such effects were found, and FDA's approval is based on its finding that sucralose is safe for human consumption."

Splenda does not cause cancer. Splenda is sucralose, a sugar.

FDA approved sucralose in 1999, based on more than 110 studies in humans and animals. Many of the studies were designed to identify possible toxic effects including carcinogenic, reproductive and neurological effects. No such effects were found, and FDA's approval is based on its finding that sucralose is safe for human consumption.

It proably wouldn't. It's simply sucralose, which is a normal sucrose molecule with a chlorine atom bonded onto it, making it indigestible. Therefore, it doesn't get absorbed into the body. It seems to be harmless, however.

I personally don't like artificial sweeteners of any kind, but Splenda appears to be pretty harmless. No worries.
