Jesus Christ is the best attested fact of ancient history.
There are over 500 ancient manuscripts in the original Greek dating before 500 A.D. and over 5000 ancient manuscripts before 1000 A.D. attesting to the historicity of Jesus.
Even if there were no original manuscripts, we would be able to reconstruct the entire New Testament except for about 70 verses from the writings of the early Church Fathers.
Recently among the Dead Sea scrolls an original complete manuscript of the Prophet Isaiah was found dating to from 100 B.C. to 100 A.D. that is in perfect agreement with our existing manuscripts. Up to that time the most ancient original manuscript dated to 1000 A.D. The Prophet Isaiah vividly foretold the sufferings of Christ in the 53rd Chapter, besides literally dozens of other prophecies which were written over 700 years before Christ.

By the way, why do you think the Western world would divide time by the birth of Jesus? BC = Before Christ; A.D. = Anno Domini (in the year of the Lord)

It's based on a man and his teachings. It is faith not fact. Jesus was a real PERSON but many of his followers did not believe he was divine. They believed him to be a great profit and teacher of peace and love. Which is totally lost by most christians today.

Hello,, all religions are of equal importance. The faith is entwined with facts. The miracles performed by Jesus Christ Buddha,Mohammad,Krishna, and all the others who have come to show the goodness of human spirit are what people need to think about. All goodness comes from GOD. Even the non-believers have some good deeds to show in their lives of misguided faith. If mankind is to enjoy life to the fullest we must all come to believe in GOD is the creator of all religion, and man has conceived Satan through the misguided followings of devious acts.

Faith. Its called a christian faith, there is no ultimate fact saying its real (and yes there is no ultimate fact saying it isn't either (bring on the thumbs down)) there is only scripture and certain feelings and 'miracles'. It is a belief on pure faith.

I believe Christianity is based on the fact that people have faith. Otherwise the churches would have vanished seven years ago or sooner

It is both. When I got saved, no one told me or showed me anything that was about to happen in my life. God showed me the truth. I dont know any way to explane it. But I guarantee anyone that is truly saved, knows with out a dought in their mind who God is. And if you ask him to just show you the truth and be sincere about it, he promises you he will show you. I challenge anyone to just give Jesus a try. I was no different than anyone on here that doesnt believe in God, until I took that step of faith one evening in my own kitchen. He is ALIVE!!!!!

It is completely based on faith. There is no proof in this world that any of its claims are truth. In fact many of its claims can be completely debunked with modern science. The only way for anyone to believe that any of it is true is through faith.

Both. The life and works and death and Resurrection of Jesus are fact. The hope of the life to come is faith.
