Some cholesterol is from what you eat. Generally that means fats (eggs are really o.k., they've decided). Butter, lard, etc are bad, canola, olive oils are good.
To suck cholesterol out of your body, eat soluable fiber (like oats, beans). This works because the body turns some of the cholesterol into bile acids. If you can stick the bile acids to something & send it to the plumbing, then it is out of your body.
But, depending on how high your numbers are, you are probably heading for a "statin" drug. It wouldn't be a bad idea, those drugs are also associated with lowering inflammation (mostly in blood vessels) and thus preventing heart/artery problems.
Talk with the doc. That is your best bet. If your LDL's are up now, they have a looonnnngggg time to do damage. Best to be proactive.
Good luck.

Consume less than 200 milligrams of dietary cholesterol each day, or follow the limits for dietary cholesterol that your doctor sets for you.
Limit your sodium intake to 2400 milligrams a day. Sea salt is a better option, but reducing your intake of all salts is the better choice.
You should be resolved to eat only enough calories to improve your healthy weight and reduce your blood cholesterol level. Being overweight can contribute to cholesterol and to heart ailments. If you need assistance seek out a nutritionist or dietician.
Refuse foods made with harmful trans fats such as margarine, salad dressing and sauces.
Enjoy foods high in soluble fiber. These foods include:
Oats, rye, and barley
Fruits (especially try oranges and pears)
Vegetables (especially brussel sprouts and carrots)
Dried peas and beans

No cholesterol does not stay with you forever. Their is good cholesterol HDL and bad cholesterol LDL. Good cholesterol can carry away bad cholesterol. I would exercise for 60 minutes a day, not eat any fast food. Eat fruits and veggies.

Cholesterol is caused by what you eat--meat, dairy, eggs--and also by family history. Eat less meat, dairy, and eggs, and more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans. Make sure you exercise, too.
