My former foster sister did for a year because she got tired of people calling her fat. & she lost about 80 lbs.

& I knew this lady who considered herself a "breathairian" because her daily diet consisted only of breathing air.

& one time, our 8th grade physical science teacher said that if you go 3 days without food or water, you die. Is this true? Because my brother went a week without eating or drinking anything because he was homeless & living on the streets & he was still alive.

***Sorry for so many questions, but this is all related to lack of eating.

You can live longer without food than without water. Without water- about 2 weeks. Without food- 3 or 4 weeks I'm guessing. You would get really skinny though and its not necessarily good for you.

No you can but you wont nessarcarily die. Drinking only water or just breathing air is anexirexia and very dangerous

Good Grief. All of that is going to extremes. I can understand the homeless man, but the rest is just gruesome. I don't know how either of them survived!

your 8th gr. teacehr had her facts odd

it's 3-5wks w/out food, 3-5days w/out water....usualy. that's before you get real sick so the fact that your brother was alive isnt too odd. i bet he was sick, but alive was good.
