Contact a vet for the answer!
Vinegar and water will do nothing except annoy the cat. The same goes for Dawn Dish Soap, garlic and any other insane remedy people on here might suggest.
You can get spot-on treatments these days - a few drops that go on the skin on the back of the neck and kill all the fleas and keep the cat protected from them for at least a month.
DO NOT purchase any flea products from any stores or supermarkets - these are cheap products that rarely work and are often dangerous. Pop into your local vets for something like Frontline - you don't have to take the cat with you.

EDIT: Regarding beachbum's comment, the last person who told me they can't afford veterinary products was trying to work out how to pay the £140 bill she'd got for toxicity treatment for her cat - after applying a pet shop product. You figure out what ends up cheaper.

Bathe them one at a time on warm (not hot) water and shampoo them with Dawn Dish-washing liquid. Leave it on for 7 minutes and be sure it does NOT get in your cat's eyes. When your cat is completely dry, you can give them the flea treatment with drops like Front Line or Advantage. Everything else is garbage, and only one of those two treatments will work. Call your vet to ask which one is used more in your area. NEVER use any kind of flea powder or sprays on the cat or in your home. Do not let pest control companies do it either. You can use fogger bombs, like the kind you can buy at the hardware store, but all animals and people need to be OUT of the house. If you need more info, I can give you a lot.

Jeez, it particularly is uncomplicated. Get Frontline and manage him as quickly as a month. it eliminates the fleas in approximately 2 months, and that's in case you have an excellent flea concern. If it particularly is basically some on him they're going to be long gone in a pair of days. through all ability, don't get RAID. Are you loopy? you will poison your cat! Vacuum your place and throw away the bag, however if it is not finished. in case you have funds, you should purchase Diatomaceous Earth and positioned it interior the vacuum bag, in spite of the undeniable fact that it is not mandatory. heavily, in case you have not have been given the money for Frontline, you have not have been given the money to locate the money for a cat. and that i'm unsure the type you're affording information superhighway. additionally, you should in no way ought to bathe a cat. purchase a flea comb and comb them out, putting them right into a bowl of water and break of day. The belongings you purchase on the food market/Walmart/puppy shop isn't powerful and additionally can poison your cat. you elect Frontline or something from the vet. Flea powders are additionally risky via fact the cat is going to bathe itself and ingest the poison. finally, in case you depart the fleas on your cat, your cat with inevitably ingest some and gets tapeworms. how are you going to locate the money for to deworm the cat?

Use the Capstar AND Frontline Plus or Advantage whichever you prefer. I like Frontline. Capstar works for 24 hours put the Frontline on at the same time because it can take 24 to 48 hours to be fully effective. By the time the Capstar runs out the other medicine should be working and you have a month of protection.

You can use flea foam it works great and you can get it for around four dollars or so at walmart. I also use a flea comb after defleaing my cat, she loves it. But the best thing I found is flea shampoo for cats, they will get use to being bathed. The easiest way is to fill the tub with warm water up to her belly hold the scruff of her neck and slowly use the other hand to wet the rest of her body, it will take a few times for her to get use to it but it is the easiest way to win the battle against fleas. I also put a flea collar on my cat.

You can bathe them. If you don't want to, get some advantage at the vet or petco sells it over the counter. It eliminates fleas pretty quickly.
