I want to work my way up in the carpenter field. I would like to at least make it to foreman. I hear the pay is about $70,000 a year, is this true? (I live in California) Also what higher positions are there in the carpentry field or is there a better way to make money as an experienced carpenter? Looking the make at least $70,000 a year.

It depends how good you are at your field, and what type of work. building houses, or heavy construction. How much building is going on in your area, and would you relocate. This is all a contributing factor on how much you make a year. Most guys I know make around 55 a year.
