I have this friend who is really lovely but when he smiles i've noticed the top part of his teeth are green. I really don't like it and am paranoid about clean teeth anyway. How do i approach this sensitively?

I had this problem with a previous boyfriend, who remains a friend today - at the time I wrote him a note telling him what an attractive, caring guy he was with a beautiful smile, marred by the lack of attention to his teeth. It turned out he hadn't been to the dentist in 20 years due to a bad experience as a child! I helped him to find a local surgery sensitive to his case. After extensive treatment, although his teeth are not perfect, they are vastly improved. There are so many treatments available to your friend, veneers etc. Just be kind and supportive and hopefully he will appreciate what a lovely friend you are.

he probably knows but doesnt care...
you could just try having a general discussion about beauty regimes, including teeth etc, maybe lead onto discussing teeth whitening , then just say.. "uh i have notced you have a bit of a green tinge to your teeth, why dont you try this - this worked for me" blah blah
i doubt it will change anything tho - i reckon he already knows about it. How could he NOT know?

I agree that he probably knows but doesn't care enough to do anything about it. If he is an adult, he will know.
I understand how you feel though. Dirty teeth are stomach-churning.
