I research this region for a living, and yes a recent poll did find that Osama was more popular. Keep in mind that no one in Pakistan who wasn't already at war with the Pakistani government will now go to war against the Pakistani government on Bin Laden's orders.

The Taliban and Al Qaeda types in Pakistan will continue to exist in areas that are impossible for the military to control, and Musharraf will continue to be unpopular as long as he terrorizes his own people. Niether one will get more popular because neither benefits Pakistanis. Pakistani's know better than anyone what would happen if radical Islamists took over, as they did in Afghanistan. On the other hand Musharraf's government will not do anything to help the general public. Both sides offer nothing for education or health, both do not respect any human rights, and both care for nothing else but their own power.

True Musarraf is not very popular; he is opposed by a full spectrum of political views. Opposing Musharraf does not mean supporting bin Laden! Osama is taking advantage of the controversy in Pakistan to try to gain some support. It's only natural.
I hope Bhutto wins.

YOU REALLY SHOULD STOP MAKING UP POLLS. MUSHARRAF NOT BEING POPULAR HAS MADE MS BHUTTO AND MR SHARIFF POPULAR! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH B LADIN.
