Dear kanfetka,
Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Jesus also tells us in Matthew 25 in the parable of the 10 Virgins, that people profesing to be "Christian" or saved may be quite lost or unsaved.
Jesus gives the same lesson in Matthew 13:24-30 (Parable of the Wheat and the Tares).
I hope this will help you understand. You may also want to read the book, "The End Of The Church Age And After" by Harold Camping......it is on the internet.

It's pretty normal to have to drag a teen to church. Teens have a small list of what they 'really' want to do. They call themselves Christian because most do believe in Jesus as the Son of God. They believe the basics..... They just haven't 'tuned in' to studying the word or paying attention to the sermon. They play through a service but hear a few things. That's no worse than the adults falling asleep through part of the service. Ha. Discipline come with maturity, and spiritual maturity comes with study and practice. They'll get there.

Calling themselves christians and actually being one is another story. They may be immature christians that doesn't take the bible seriously.Or are just pretending to avoid the truth.Either way in church is not a place to be texting anyone. That is just bad manners.

Well most labeled "Christians" aren't really following the word. It's a religious label. Many people think that calling yourself something and believing in God saves you and makes you Gods child. But it's evident many people don't practice what they preach or walk in the path God intended them to walk. Many adults don't even follow the word.
I grew up around Christians my whole life. After reading the bible, I discovered many don't follow it at all, and I'd be surprised if they've read it.

Why do they have to be dragged to church in the first place ?They should be allowed to make up their own minds if they want to go to church or not.Attending church has nothing to do with being a good Christian.
Edit.......Saying "I'm Christian" does NOT make you one.

Exactly!! That's my biggest pet peeve about church. I sit there trying to be at peace trying to make that heart to heart connection with my Lord n Savior and all around me are teeny boppers and college kids dressed like they're ready to go to a party or something or they have this attitude like they're there to meet girls or guys.
They will reach that point in their life when they'll realize that they're there for the Lord and not for a social gathering.

A lot of people believe they inherit their faith from their parents, therefore they don't have to make a personal decision.
Maybe you should reach out to them! Start a Bible study that delves deep into the basics of becoming Christ Follower. You would probably learn a lot on the way!

Let me understand now..... you are going to judge the validity of Christianity base on what you have seen a few children do? Very astute of you to do that.

If you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord & Savior...you are a Christian...young people will be young people.
As we get older, these behaviors will change, (when I was a child I behavied like a child...).
Remeber don't judge or question someone else's faith...that's just not your job!

These days, how does anyone call themselves "real" anything? I guess it all depends on your perspective and how devoted you are to it, whatever "it" is.
