I have 6 cats, two of them, Mother and son, have noses that stay dirty. The other cats keep their noses clean. Can anyone explain why these two cats have dirty noses?

Some cats just prefer to stick their noses into dusty places and get a bit lazy about cleaning their noses off. Unless it's wet mucous, there's nothing to worry about. Other than that they just enjoy playing inthe dust and dirt. Cats are kind of like people, Some are obsessive about cleanlinesss and others enjoy getting down and dirty. Those tow seem to be the latter.

What is on their nose? Dirt? If so, they just are not cleaning properly. If it is crusty, such as nose boogers, they may just have some allergies. Just clean it with a warm wet cloth. If it is mucus, they need to see a vet. They could have a viral infection that can spread to the other cats. My cats sometimes get dried stuff on their noses, but it is due to allergies and they usually clean it off themselves.

Sounds like "bad habits" run in Feline families- too! Some cats cover their "wastes" in their Litterboxes- with their noses!
