I think it would not be so anti women, not so homophobic and might make some sense if a God had written it.

Nomadic morons??? Lets see.... King David, a warrior and king; Solomon, the wisest man to ever live; Luke, a doctor; Paul, a very well educated priest;...

The men that were inspired by God to write the many books of the Bible were anything but morons.

Actually, I think it would have been pretty much the same. Maybe not as anti-woman or as homophobic, but still along the same lines. What you have to remember is the time when the bible was written. Countries were constantly fighting, people were enslaved, the masses looked to their spiritual leaders for guidance. Granted the bible is not perfect, and has been amended a dozen times over the years, but at its core the words give strength and guidance to those who seek it. As a non-believer, I have read the bible countless times and have found that message to be very true. Regardless of how you look at it, the bible is some powerful stuff.

It isn't anti women. The Bible tells that man and women are equals. Homosexuality is impure. And it's like trigonometry; hasd to understand at first but more comprehensible with study. So to answer your question, while nomads may have been the ones to put the Bible down on paper or stone or whatever, God says it as his word.

I agree. Human beings have come a long way, we live and think differently now than we did back then. We're more open minded and lenient in so many ways.
Back then their ideals were so different than today's ideals as it will be in the future.
If God had written the bible we wouldn't have all these different religions, beliefs and conflict of religion but it was not written by God, man did it and was passed down from generation to generation. It is possible with that in mind, the bible was edited to fit the ideals at that time.
We have evolved so much that we question so many things that we don't know, the origin of the world even, but that's what makes us unique and apart from other species in our world. We are able to think, granted we may not get along with in our own species but we try to make the most of it.

If you have a problem understanding the Bible, you need to except Jesus as your Savior and He will give you understanding. So simple a child can understand. My daughter is 20 years old, she has been reading the Bible since the age of 7 and she became a Christian at the age of 8. "So simple a child can understand. That is if they want to.

I agree with St. Louis Cards Fan. Besides Moses being educated in the Pharaohs court in Egypt, Luke was a Doctor and scholar.

The people you call morons were called by God holy men.

2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Bible is the Word of God, He is no respecter of person you can best understood it if you read further.

"Thus saith the LORD..."

It probably wouldn't have attained the same popularity. Because, part of the bibles selling point is its absurdity. Humans are such inherently illogical beasts. Think of all the scientific journals which contain a wealth of knowledge but sit gathering dust on bookshelves whilst glossy magazines with pictures of Paris Hilton fly off the shelves.

I think the song of songs is not anti-women at all and I don't think they were nomadic morons even though I don't agree with them. You are so judgmental.

They were clearly not morons.

This book allowed them to justify genocide, rape, wife stealing, mass murder and ethnic cleansing. It is used to jusitify the state of Israel, which has stolen land from all of its neighbours through war. It was behind the most powerfule empire prior to the British one, which was at least nominally based on it (though belief in god seems to have been optional in this case).

These guys were smart. Evil. But smart.
