I try to take my mind off things, because I find that when I don't do that my mind tends to over think certain situations that are making me depressed. I also configured a self-care plan where I write down all the things I will do in the event I become or get depressed. Things like reading a book, going out for a movie or staying in for a movie, taking pictures, or going for a long walk, etc etc.

Go outside and get a fresh early morning start with a walk. Walk so far away that when I come back home to have some breakfast, it's almost 9 a.m.

Then whilst the morning is still young, go out there and revive yourself by wanting to do your daily activities such as finding a full time job, going to visit a friend, taking a part-time course, or even going to the public library and reading a book.

The most important part of what I'm saying is get yourself back together after a long morning walk. It certainly helps to revive your body and soothen your soul with cool, fresh, crisp morning air.

If you are not working right how can you feel that you will work right around others. You need to take care of yourself first and don't let anyone tell you your not important. try to think happy thoughts. Go out and take a walk or call someone who is up. Everyone gets depressed, the key is not to stay that way

Sometimes, I ride it out and let myself feel the depression for a little time to get it out of my system, other times I think about good things and get myself moving and doing something, anything to not feel or think about it and it usually goes away. Therapy helped me a lot when it was bad; now, when I get a taste of it, I can help myself.

drink up! but not alone! with some friends. tell a friend or two that you feel depresed, buy a 1.5 liter of absolut and some cranberry juice and start drinking with your friends, you'll feel better. you'll be laughing with them and completely forget your troubles and youll cry. crying is good cuz you let everything out. cry of everything that has made you feel bad.
