For me I have always thought that being healthy and staying fit is just in our minds. I have a friend who got hooked on the ab diet and cut out all the foods he loved got up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym and lost weight but had no fun doing it. He hasn't has a slice of pizza in like 9 months. For me I wanted to loose the weight but still be able to eat the good stuff in moderation. I hated the idea of not being able to go out to dinner once and a while just cause I was watching my weight. For some reason I have found a lot of people who dont agree with this. Why is that someone can watch what they eat on a regular basis, but as soon as they eat a buffalo wing or a piece a cheese cake (eventhough it's been a few weeks) they are being bad. I made this work for me; I was able to eat what I wanted in moderation and still loose 25 lbs. Even though it worked for me I was wondering why for most people it has to be a diet and be miserable or nothing. Why are people against this?

The immediate answer would be they want instant gratification. We have no patience. Doing what you did is correct because you have also set up a different life style that you can live with and they will go back to the same old thing in time. Stick with it and good luck.

It's just less effecient, maveric, the long winded. Also, it can be a mental game. If its ok to eat fatty, sugary things some times, then when is it not ok? Also, having a slice of pizza once in a while can lead to unhealthy living. Some times it's not worth it to risk it.
The best thing in my opinion is geting where you want and then implementing the things you like to eat. If you gain a pound after you eat the pizza that doesn't go away for a while, then stop.

because most people can't handle that. I am like you, but there was a time when if i ate one thing bad, that i would eat a bunch of bad stuff. and most people are that way. little self control, that is why people are over weight in the first palce.
