I rear ended somebody at a stop light , going at about 5 m/h. So, basically scratched the other person's bumper. The person complained that she had pains. That nothing was considered an accident because the insurance spent a little more than $500 on the claim. Now, my insurance increases over $100.
Do you have any ideas of how to solves this thing?
thanks a lot

The only thing you can do is check around with other companies and see if you can get a better rate somewhere else.

not much to solve. you got tagged with an accident because you rear ended someone. no matter how trivial, if the insurance company pays a claim for an at fault accident (or in a no fault state like michigan) your insurance goes up until the accident drops from your driving record, usually 2 years if a ticket was involved.

Don't rear end people. Your insurance will drop when you show that you are again a responsible driver.

Sorry, that's just how it works. You hit someone looking for a payday. They didn't get it, but you are paying the price for your carelessness anyway.
