I had my 2 female cats spayed at 6mo and my vet said that 1 of my cats was already in heat when he did the surgery. So I would say around 5-6months

Usually around six months. Sometimes a little less and sometimes they are older when they actually display the behavior that comes along with going in heat. I had a cat once who didn't go into heat until 2-3 years old. Sometimes I think it has to do with their exposure to other un-spayed or un-neutered cats. They can tend to mimic other females who go into heat and when toms are around, they tend to go into heat sooner.

Cats can go into heat as early as 4 1/2 months! That is why it is important to have your kitten spayed or neutered as early as indicated by your veterinarian.

like humans somne cats marure sooner than others .. females can have their first heat cycle as young as 5 months old.. contrary to belieffemales as well as males spray to attack the opposite sex..
sometimes its aesy to see when your cat is on heat .. they will make an awful whaling noise.. the problem comes when you have a silent caller.. then the signs are not so obvious.. the female will be extra friendly.. will roll around on the floor .. will present her bottom to you when you try to stroke her .
if in doubt just look out of the window ..a female on heat will attract lots of male visitors..

If I do not have my cats spayed/nuetured by about 8-9 months they go into heat. Its best to get them spayed/neutered at least by 8 months old. ^.^
