1.Get halloween themed cookie cutters and bake several shaped cookies. Have a topping buffet with orange icing and different toppings like chocolate and rainbow sprinkles, those confetti mini wafers, etc. Visit the cake decorating section in your supermarket or go to a party store.

2. Cut celery into 2 or 3 inch pieces and fill with peanut butter. You can put raisins on them and say they are ants. Or you could fill with vegetable or onion dip just for something else to put out.

3. Make your own papier mache halloween pinata. Make a form in the shape of a halloween image and cover with papier mache. After it dries, fill with assorted candy and decorate with construction paper. Have your kids draw designs on it. I don't know, maybe the party store even has pinatas already made.

4. Make a decent punch like this one: 1 container of cranberry juice concentrate with 2 liter bottle of Ginger Ale. Place the punch bowl on a table in a corner. Buy a large cauldron from the party store and put a bowl of water in it and some dry ice to create a mist ( be careful with dry ice around kids).

That's a few ideas off the top of my head, but Martha Stewart's website might have lots of ideas or the food network website. They do special shows on entertaining for halloween. Good luck, have fun and Enjoy!
