Hi there,
Nissan have had to recall thousands of N16 Almeras, the headlight bulb holders become brittle internally and the lowbeam output is impaired.
The headlight was designed with cooling ducts built into the lowbeam bulb holder but over time this design has backfired, the heat build up within the light unit causes the bulb holder material to become brittle and with the constant suspension movement and vibration whilst moving the holder breaks or someone tries to change a lowbeam bulb and the holder is so tight the bulb holder breaks off in your hand - because it's brittle.
I have changed a few sets to date and it takes minutes but other dealers will advise you of about half an hour in total.
Cheers

If the same fault is in the Uk as the United States. Nissan will replace the low beam bulb and grounding plate and spring hold down clip. The bulb should be replaced when the technician has the back of the headlight apart.
