Easiest way to tell if the 300zx is twin turbo; look at the intake plenum. It will say twin turbo in red letters unless somebody had previously removed the decal. Also when looking at the hood there should be 2 intake pipes coming off of either side of the motor. The front bumper will have 3 intercooler slits on the bottom as previously stated and will also be equiped with a small rear wing. Interior wise there will also be a small turbo gauge underneath the speedometer, and a small switch to adjust the dampening of the suspension which is located on the center consol next to the power mirror switch. It will also have four wheel steering, which can be indicated when turning the key to on position by a "hicas" light.

The engine in a 1990 (Z32) 300ZX is either a VG30DE or VG30DETT. Meaning its either non turbo or twin turbo. There is no single turbo Z32.
The TT version had quite a few differences. The turbo's are tucked on either side of the engine and are extremely difficult to see. Its easier to look for the intercoolers. They are on either side of the front bumper. There will be three slits for the air to pass through to the intercooler.
There are other differences but the intercooler is the easiest to explain.

$3-4500 would be a good range for that car with that kind of mileage. Anything lower and you're looking at a crappy Z. Just make sure that the maintenance has been up to par and that it drives good with no mechanical problems. Being that it's 19 years old, it has lost some HP but believe me, it still will have a lot of power. Just keep it in good, running condition and you'll have a good, strong Z. At the 150 wheel HP, that's really off. Expect more like 180-190 wheel HP stock.

There is much more plumbing inside the engine room each side of the motor are three tubes one from the inter cooler to the throttle chamber and one from the air cleaner to the turbo inlet and charge pipe from turbo to the other side of the inter cooler. Normally aspirated cars are much less complicated and turbo cars have a boost indicator under the speedometer

Just pop open the hood; if there is a turbo installed, it will be right on top. There's a small canister-looking thingy, with pipes attached between the exhaust manifold and the intake. That's the turbo. Good luck!

it can be hard to tell on those because Nissan does such a good job of packaging, they tuck them down under the motor out of site, so look on the back of the car, it should say 300 ZX TURBO ..
