"This is your brain saying "You're acting so stupid, that we don't want to remember this later!""

First, I'd like to point out that this statement makes no sense at all.

As for blackouts, they are normal... If you're a college student. I've blacked out maybe three times (I can't remember, yeah, I know, that was too easy).

It just means you've been drinking too much.
If you plan on getting plastered, make sure you have some trustworthy friends to care for you.

Having a blackout DOES NOT mean you're an acloholic. Drinking all the time makes you an alky. Getting drunk occasionally does not.

Drinking blackouts occur when you've drank so much that your brain is unable to form or unable to retain any memories. I don't think they are normal although I experience them fairly frequently. I think some people are more vulnerable to them than others. It can be pretty scary sometimes and it can be a real pain in the as*. Unfortunately there really isn't any treatment or way to fix it other than drinking less. Good luck.

When you reach a point past intoxication your brain cannot process or function as well - that is a blackout. As time passes you will recall in fragments what happened - the bad thing is you may wish you couldn't remember or you may need to call the police. It is better to drink water between each alcoholic beverage in order to slow your absorption and keep your wits about you. Good luck!

They occur when you drink so much that your brain goes into a state of mind that it can't remember jack. It's totally normal if you get plastered all the time like an alchoholic. It's not very good for you though.

Your brain is shutting you off so you can't drink any more. You should take that hint and limit your drinking.
