Will Nascar race in Newton, Iowa on the new speedway? I live close to Newton and I would love to see a race on that track that I could go and watch since all other tracks are far away. They should take away a track they race at twice a year for the Iowa Speedway. I hope they come race here in the near future.
Who thinks they'll eventually come to Iowa in the near future??

Dunno, but I read long before Rusty retired that he was building it specially for Nascar. He said he wanted to build the perfect track for Nascar drivers. I hope so!!!!

I hope not.
They already race too many places away from the roots in the south east.
I personally think you all should come to our original tracks if you want to see them live and if not turn the tube on.
There isn't a track built in the last 20 years that is any good. I would say when they learn how to build a track that doesn't look like a bigger or smaller version of Michigan (which sucks) NASCAR won't come and race.
I watched a race at IOWA and it seemed to be OK but I seem to remember a lot of wrecks. Maybe not I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it used to be.

Don't look for cup in the near future. This area may have a truck race or a long shot BUSCH(or what ever it will be called),but there are several tracks ahead of IOWA in asking for an event.
Only 1 NASCAR race has been held in IOWA>
August 2,1953 at Davenport.A half mile dirt track event won by Herb Thomas.

Doubt it. There are too many tracks out there that are currently Nascar tracks that want two events, instead of 1. If it is a good speedway, you might, and again I say might get a Modified, or a Truck race out there, but that is a big might. I heard it is a nice track though, challenging.
NASCAR is too money hungry, the question is how many people can it hold, before they will look at it, I would think.

It'll never see a cup race, but you'll get Busch and Trucks in the next few years. Enjoy them, though, 'cause if it goes the way of the track by me, you'll get eight to ten years and then ISC will buy the track and move its races elsewhere, and include a clause in the purchase contract that says that the land can't be used for motorsports at any time over the next fifty years...

The Trucks or the Bush guys will race there first and then the cup guys will I hope. Because I am from Iowa that will be so cool if Nascar goes to Iowa. I hope that it does happen. I can hope can't I

I just don't forsee that happening. Look how they closed the Rock, since other tracks wanted a race or even two races, and that was an awesome track. Bruton Smith is still trying to get a second race for Vegas, it took him a while and a lot of whining (money too) but, he got his second race in Texas.

You might get a truck race, possibly a busch race, it would be several yrs before a cup race could be there the schedule is pretty packed at this time...
