Why do I feel this is a trick Question?
If people who are short sighted wear contact lenses which have been specially prescribed for them, have passed their driving test, and have a car, then they can. At night headlights from other cars can cause a star effect to the sight of contact wearers. If this is the case then it would be better to use prescribed specs, instead of contacts, if driving during the hours of darkness.

Yes, I have been for years and prefer contact lenses to glasses for driving as better all round vision and no night glare off the glasses

Definitely if anything you get better vision from contact lenses as they sit on the eyeball. Just make sure your eyes aren't dry or your not too tired as they both effect your vision anyway.

Yes. As far as I know it would be the same as wearing glasses and you are allowed to wear those.
