I'll be taking Clariton every morning, and Benedryl every night

I am alergic to dust mites - I have no carpet in my house. I'm also alergic to pine - I live in a log home. LOL

X-rays showed that my frontal sinuses never delevoped, so the others are overloaded. And the right side is smaller than the left.

He has prescibed Flonase. And I picked up a sinus/nasal irrigator.

I would love to find another way of treating this instead of taking pills. I found an awesome health food store that carries all sorts of natural things.

well my suggestion would be to use a sinus rinse called neilimed its great i have sinisitus and get post nasel drip and i recently found this rinse and it helps to keep my sinus passages clearer and it helps me not to get so much post nasal drip. i also use flonase and that helps, my doctor has me to gargle with salt water everynight too it keeps the throat nice and moist and keeps the post nasal drippage to a miniumum. clariton works wonders, i have been taking alavert. if it gets worse or you get a sore thraot or green dishcarge then get to the dr that means it has changed from what you have to an infection.

its tuff to deal with this condition but once you learn to live with it you can manage it fairly well i know i do.

also scrape your tounge at least once a day when you brush your teeth this will help you not to get bad breath due to the sinsus condition.

goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chronic Sinusitis ...is Allergy.

Allergy is a Progressive, Chronic Disease.

Allergy Med's only Mask Symptoms...
They Do Not Treat the Allergy Disease Source.

UnTreated, Mild to Severe Allergy Continues / Exacerbates...

Leading to unabated Disease Progressionand a LifeTime, Slippery Slope of further recalcitrant Diseases and Health Complications.

Thus said...
Suggest visit to your Personal Physician for an IgE Allergy Blood Terst for the most common Seasonal & year-round Allergens specific to Your Geo-Region to determine WHAT you are Allergic to...

Then Under-the-Tongue ImmunoTherapy DROPS....
which will recaliberate your Immune System and Neutralize Your Allergy Disease at the Source... Producing Lasting, If Not Lifetime Benifits.

Do not take your Chronic Sinusitis lightly...

As may Allergy Sufferers say....

ALLERGIES Are Nothing To Sneeze AT !

Good Health

You don't mention if you are getting any relief from these products. I would be more interested in any other symptoms which may accompany this condition. Too often a nerve inflammatory process is misdiagnosed as sinus problem, as the nerves exit in the sinus area of the face. If those nerves are sore (can find them in the notches of the bone ..hole in the bone) it would indicate you have a misdiagnosis. You will find one notch in the eyebrow, the other just before the enlargement of the cheek bone, about an inch away from the nostril area of the nose. Any tenderness there would also indicate you have an accompanying tenderness at the base of the skull.. May want to check them out.

I am not sure why your doc has you taking 2 antihistamines for sinusitis. Are you sure he didn't say allergic or chronic RHINITIS??? Your meds don't match up to your diagnosis as claritin lasts for 24 hours so I see no point in the Benadryl. You need to get rid of all of your toxic cleaners and laundry products and replace them with all natural cleaners. The old product have to be taken to your toxic waste disposal place as many are registered pesticides and they are toxic waste. It is illegal to put them out for regular trash collector. Clean your home and shampoo the carpets with the new items. Take a good antioxidant supplement daily and a good mulitvitamin that is well absorbed by your body. I would clarify things with your doc to as 2 antihistamines sounds a bit much for sinusitis. If he said rhinitis that is different.

Unfortunately, that doesn't say much about WHY it is happening, only that it is happening.

Do you know if you are allergic to something? Molds? Pollen? Some type of food?

Unfortunately, you may be allergic to something that you have no way of getting away from (i.e. certain kinds of common mold) and the only solution becomes drugs (as you are doing).

That's pretty much where I am ... alergic to aspergillium.

Nothing to do but swear.

If you have a sinus infection, they'll try to treat it with antibiotics ... but they usually don't call those "Chronic" unless it is some sort of critter that they just don't think they'll ever get rid of.
