just to let you know u dont really need to see a vet to get the tonails trimed. get a friend and just clip a little at a time. be carefull not to cut the quick. but on the other hand if this is ur first time clipping the piggies nails then its not a bad idea to go to the vet to show you how to do it.

Do the Guinea Pigs nails yourself!!!
I have a Guinea Pig rescue ( 14 of them at the moment ) and do all the nail trimming myself with an ordinary toe nail clipper. Grab the piggie and hold him securely so you can safely clip the toenail. If you're not sure how short to cut it, cut it as far as you feel safe to and in a week, trim a little more. You should be able to see the quick inside the nail and you don't want to cut that and make the toenail bleed. There are lots of websites that you can look to for more guideance. You wouldn't go to your doctor to trim your own nails so save yourself a few bucks and do the piggies yourself!
Good Luck! and don't be nervous. As much as they don't like it, it much less stressfull on them for you to do it than a stranger!

You don't need to go to the vet's for that!!!
Just get a partner, wrap up your piggy in a towel, find some old fingernail trimmers you have, and chop away! There is a pink part in their toe called the quick, it is their blood vein. DOn't cut into that or they will start bleeding. If your piggy is squirmy then a partner really does help! If, by accident, their foot does start bleeding, then get cornstarch mixed with water and dab their toe, that will stop it. If you don't have cornstarch then get a cottonball and apply pressure around the toe. That will stop the blood flow and help it clot or something like that.

Look in the Yellow Pages and call the vets in your city and ask if they treat Guinea Pigs.

You don't need to go to a vet for that, in fact you are going to have to learn yourself as guinea pigs need their nails cut every 3 weeks. For the future, these 3 sites may help you:

I use human nail clippers like these http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/1957878/2/istockphoto_1957878_nail_clipper.jpg to cut my girls nails. If you look at the nail you will see a red line, this is known as the quick. If you cut through this it will bleed. I usually cut right up to where the quick ends. Use a torch to see the quick in black nails. My girls are very good now and will sit patiently whilst I do their nails. This site http://www.guinealynx.info/nails.html will help you.
