I'm Canadian and I now very much disrespect the United States. You're country is a complete bully if not a tyrant. Your president is a disgrace and ironically is a terrorist himself.

I currently live in Canada and I have strong opinions about the war in Iraq. The American people could've been a beacon to the world and been the first nation to bring democracy to Afghanistan but it squandered precious resources on Iraq. The US could've won Afghanistan in 2002 but it used logistics to prepare to assault a second Muslim nation in 2 years.
Pres. Bush has taken his presidential powers too far. His policies radicalize Muslims from Germany and Albania to Indonesia and the Phillippines, from Britain to Nigeria. Now this hypothetical "War on Terrorism" could last decades.
The real big question is whether Americans will have the will to withstand this deadlocked nature of war and submit to their government's wishes like during the Cold War.

I live in Mexico and I think USA is only after the oil in Iraq, there's no other reason to be there that long. That is an invasion! Nobody asked for help, there have never been evidences of "massive destruction weapons", Americans keep falling and people from Iraq as well.
Plane and simple conquer!

As a Canadian I at first supported this war with what the media was feeding me and enjoyed watching the media along side the troops and getting Saddam out of power.
But 4 years later and after many hours of researched come to the realization that the American people have been fooled and bush and friends are milking this war for what its worth.
Cheney knew this would happen as you can see in this video from 94
http://youtube.com/watch?v=CkkdsWgq2cI
This war is just a way to steal their oil for private companies and military contracts for both sides, since Sunnies are now being equiped too and then left to fight their civil war.
I can go on but as you can see, i would rather perfer focusing on Al Quada and defense at home then trying to nation build going in debt doing it while an elite few profit from it.

It is unfortunately wasting and otherwise making paraplegics of a number of good men and women. This war was based on a lie (it was more to get Iran's petrol) and is creating even more friction between the local factions then there was before. What's even worse is that the situation will worsen into an even bigger social war when the US and Allies leave.

I feel our military has paid a very big price for Bush and his friends to get rich. Saddam Hussein was a very bad guy, but he didn't attack us on 9/11. If Bush had gone after Bin Laden instead, we would all be a lot better off. We could have come close to stopping terrorism and allot of lives would have been spared. Instead of paying private contractors to do military jobs, he should have given our military a raise. But then who would have profited by the war? God Bless You and Keep You Safe!

I agree with some of the other people on here. People in other countries love to say negative things about America. Even though I'm not absolutely clear about what exactly's going on over there I support the troops 100% and God bless. People shouldn't make ignorant comments about us when we're trying to stop terrorism.

I think it will bankrupt your country - you may ' win ' in the next year or so but for what ? You hold the ground but the insurgents and al queda keep comming and fresh troops fill the holes made in the ranks. Even with the high kill ratio to us soldiers the volunteers fill the ranks and come from far and wide to iraq

It's a mixed bag out here. If you're liberal, you believe the Iraq problem is George Bush's war and he is a war monger. If you're conservative, you recognize the dangers of Islam and someone needs to take them to task. In Afghanistan the UN is doing a lot of the work, whereas in Iraq it is predominately a US fight.
The fight is much the same in both countries. The enemy is much the same, Islam ! The country's provoking much of the skirmish and are not being taken to task, are Iran and Syria.

I'm British and I feel it's time to leave them to it! I'm sure that they don't want foreigners in their country and it's not up to us to hold their society together. Besides it's all about the oil and this should be no reason for anyone to lose their life!
Good luck to you - hope you're home soon.x
