We don't make decisions about belief based on whether or not we're POSSIBLY wrong, we make decisions about belief based on how we FEEL and based on what we THINK.
Did YOU choose to believe the way you do only because you're afraid you might be wrong? If so, that's not true belief, it's merely fear.
By the way, atheists do NOT believe. It's YOU who believes, and yes your belief IS only a belief and cannot be proven without facts.
*Gulp* Ahhh, that was good.

Pascal's Wager -- You know that this gets asked so often it is part of our drinking game
- It assumes there is no downside. There is. You spend your life (the only one you do have) following a lie. That is a HUGE downside.
- How would you know which God to pick? The evidence is the same for Anubis, so what happens to you when you are wrong and you can't pass the questions from the Book of the Dead or your heart weighs heaver than a feather. There are thousands of others with the same evidence. Just picking one randomly doesn't do much for your odds.
- How could you hope to fool a god by saying you believe when you don't?

I attempted to be an athiest as a young adult it just was not honest I could never honestly from my heart not beleive in a Higher power.
Asking people to go against there hearts and to be phoney is a sin as far as Im concerned/
God doesnt care if they believe God cares more about honesty integrity and right action and living then anything else.
Athiests should be HONEST and true to what there hearts tell them.

can you be clear on that? i got a headache just looking at that. We're not wrong, but we're not right either. Belief has nothing to do with facts, it's just an opinion. So what if we're wrong? it's nothing to cry about. And by the way, who cares?

First of all you are going to hell if it exists. Second I just try and do what I think is right like not killing or stealing and trying to keep lying to a minimum. If that's not good enough for god then I guess I am screwed.

There are more than 2800 gods believed in by various religions around the world. By your reasoning, you'd better get studying about who those gods are, and start worshiping them ASAP, because what if you die and it turns out to be one of THEM on the other side?
Better safe than sorry, right? What do you have to lose?

And, what if you are? Zeus is gonna be PISSED!
Seriously - if Im wrong and I stand before God and he wishes to condemn me for being EXACTLY WHAT HE CREATED, then I will happily take a handbasket to Hell. I wouldnt be able to stand eternity with such an egomaniacal ruler.

I'm betting I'm right. I still live morally, way more morally than child touching priests. If I'm wrong, then it's only eternity.
